How do we get to the level of these 2 Superbowl teams?

How far off are we?

I don't think we could ever be like the Chiefs because Mahomes is really that whole team. He's the best player in the NFL right now.

What we can replicate from the Chiefs is an offense that creates more explosive plays.

2 problems...

Dak is not an explosive big play QB.

Zeke was not an explosive RB at all this past season.

Defensively on paper I don't see us too far from the 9ers but when it plays out on the field our defense is nowhere near theirs.

I like our front 7 with Quinn. We need some help at DT.

Byron would be a big loss IMO. Especially with this coordinator.

The best comparison for the Cowboys right now is the Titans. The big difference is the coach. If this team had Mike Vrabel, I do believe they could have gotten to the NFC Championship game.

No doubt my boy Mahomes is a the best player in football, but they are loaded on offense. Best TE in football and the fastest team in football. They are the greatest team on grass. They would put 50 on us easy with our current defense. We have no one that could cover Hill or Kelce.

We would play our man scheme and Mahomes would have ran for 200 yards alone!

KC has the appropriate talent for Mahomes. Speed kills

Hill, Hardman, Watkins, Robinson on the wings and Kelce in the seam.
Solid trio of backs too.

SF spent draft picks and money on the defensive side and they bloomed at the right time.
Also have a deadly run game, which is something Dallas can do next year.

The 49ers team I’ve been watching would have destroyed us. In the 2 recent incarnations of the 49ers being good...Harbaugh snd this.. they seemed to have started with an aggressive D. I feel like they feed on that and then they get decent QB play with a strong running game. The difference is our D overall and how we let teams take it to us vs guys who get after it.

Chiefs are built on athleticism and speed. They remind me of a college team..Clemson 2 yrs back and LSU this year. Can kill you many different ways

Overall we are fine with O personnel. We need a massive investment in our D.

I think he could still be good in a Anquan Boldin type of role and let him do work in the redzone.

I know the team probably isn't going there but he is one of our all time greats and was done dirty. I think if he came back strong it would really energize the fan base too.

He's only 31 years old.

I wonder how much of a factor Andy Reid plays. I don't know the answer but if Mahomes played for the Browns and Mayfield played for the Chiefs which one would we be talking about? Back to the Cowboys, despite the friction with Rodgers McCarthy was a QB coach and has had some pretty good success with QBs plus Dak has done pretty well already and has a strong work ethic so I would only expect him to improve next year.

Andy Reid is a huge factor and he got a QB that compliments what he likes to do as a playcaller.

Both teams have speed on offense. Dallas has no one that runs away from defenders like the Chiefs have. The 49ers came up with a running game base on speed. All of their RBs are faster than Zeke. This has been my issue with Zeke, He doesn't have that quickness to the hole anymore or to cut outside or inside like he once did. The 49ers running game is based on their RBs getting to open space before defenders can get there. KCs game is based on the threat that their WRs can outrun defenders deep. So much attention is given to the WRs it opens things up for Kittle and Mahomes. KC has too many threats for any defense to defend every play.

I at one time was asking why defenses cannot contain Mahomes by spying on him, but the fact is they have to commit all their DBs to stopping the passing game. Right now KC has defenses having to pick their poison.

It will be interesting to see if the SF defensive line can get to Mahomes before he has a chance to find a target and if they can contain him from getting outside.

To me these show you can build a team more than one way
SF built a killer D and a run first offense to compliment it
KC built a explosive offense
Both are hard to build without being bad to get good
But if we can have a good free agent period and hit on 3-4 draft picks and build a good defense we may have a shot at having a good team

Hard to argue dez wasn’t a distraction
This team has to be much more disciplined and play with more heart and desire
Dez plays with heart but he does cause distraction
