I dont see us being active the first few days. Thats never going to be us. We may dip our toes in ala Sammy Watkins, but we arent going to pay those rates. I believe our offer to Watkins was 2 million AAV less than what he got.

However, this year I can see us being more agressive with short term money than in the past. More Randel Cobbs this year. I can see short term signings at DT, Safety and CB happening.

Also, there could be some multi years value available at DT . I can see them getting a player at a value similar to Malcolm Brown who got 3 year, 15 million dollar deal from NOLA

GB rarely dipped into FA as well, and built through the draft. So I agree, and expect about the same as usual.
Dallas will take care of their own FA's 1st. Keep who MM wants, let a few test the eaters though. Then see if the player gives them the opportunity to match.

I think they wanted to keep Hitchens, but the offer was too high from KC. We may see a few like that. Like Malik Collins, maybe Byron Jones even. Anthony Brown may return at a lower pay than he could get from other teams, but you never know.

Brown is a guy that might take a shorter term deal. His value isnt super high, but if he has a + season in the next two years he could cash in on it. I think he is a "bet on yourself" candidate

They better be careful trying to pray for Randall Cobb types. You usually don’t get steals like that.

I think free agency will be a big part of the off season only because Dallas has so many guys of their own who will be free agents. Again, a lot depends on what the defensive scheme will be. It sounds like Nolan will want bigger stronger DTs, but they don't grow on trees. I won't mind one or two 1 year deals, but they are projected to have another dozen or so free agents next year so it would be good not to be in a position of turning over half the roster again in 2021.

One thing is clear, they need to be stronger up front on both sides of the ball and faster everywhere else.

I dont think they will be looking for steals as much as short term value while they rebuild the defense through the draft. I just think they will be more agressive in the Randall Cobb tier FA's this year than in the past

To me it seems like the same people are in the building. I think McCarthy is the one going to have to adapt.
The thing is you have alot of players who are unsigned that may not fit the scheme anymore. Thats where you could see some actively in FA. Guys like Collins and maybe even Jones you may have resigned.

There is a time to hold em and a time to fold em

Unfortunately our FO hasn’t understood that and has been reactive rather than proactive

Jones should have been traded for a rd 2 pick at the trade deadline

We absolutely NEED to sign a top level starter at TE, at DT and safety . These are absolute must haves if we want to get to the next level

this will likely means Cooper walks and Jones walks

this will also allow us not to reach fir need in the draft

I agree. I think the urgency and feeling they can win now will result in being a bit more aggressive in free agency than they have been recently.

Hard to tell with entirely new HC with more say in the goings on than we've seen in the past........plus I think we have decent CAP room to work with.
If Jerry Jones of mind his own business. I can only imagine how good we really can be

Going to be interesting with a new coaching staff, with a lot of experience, how they might approach FA. First step is to assess their own FA's.

Wouldn't mind seeing them overpay Chris Harris Jr, if they have to, on a 2 or 3 year deal.

Guy is still a stud corner who will we re-energized after leaving Denver. The relationship there went south and he checked out this season.
