There is a simple solution, tag Prescott for the 27.5M; however, the next step isn't so simple. Do you take, even trade up, a QB in the 1st with the needs we already know are there or wait and make this decision again next year? The status of Cooper and Jones are not known as well as Quinn.
I look at this team, and at a minimum see the need for at least one DT, CB, LB and S and DE, if they don't keep Quinn, and not all on that 3rd day. Now, some of this can be addressed in FA but they've not been known as hunters at the beginning. They've actually done better at trading than FA.
And if that 1st could bring in a stud S like Jamal Adams, wouldn't it be better used than on a QB that is a ? from the get go?
I do think there is a feeling that is self imposed. These new coaches are going to make all of these players better. Before this season began, I suggested we focus as much on execution as plays called and I am not one to think the problems left with the coaching staff. I saw some poor execution this year, very poor, and the coaching was a scapegoat.
