But you could also make the point that 40 million or 35 million for a system AB without Bellicheat is the same. I mean, isn't that Dak?
Yeah except Dak is 26 years old. Brady is cooked. There’s a reason why guys retire before they hit Brady’s age. He’s cooked. Anyone who saw him this season will tell you the same. If the plan is just to get away from Dak than it has to be a smarter option than a quarterback that’s just about checked out.

I stopped reading right here because I didn't need to read any more. If you take away emotion, like you would do in any football or baseball sim, this would be the logical thing to do. Do you really consider the feelings of computer generated players? Now that Garrett is gone and MM is in, this would be the perfect landing spot for him. Then trade up for Tua and let him learn under the master until he decides it's time to hang 'em up. No one can tell me this is a bad idea. I think it puts the Cowboys in the mix for an extended period of time.
Yeah it makes sense to get worse at quarterback.....

Then it kills you. I would take Brady or even Romo any day of the week and twice on Sunday over Dak...I'm never paying him with his errant throws and poor footwork 35mil per year...NEVER!
You didn’t see all the errant throws Brady threw last season?

Tom Brady in Kellen Moore’s offense? That is going to look a mess lol.

Maybe but if you are serious about winning a Championship, then you go get the best QB option you can and you bring in the OC to make it work. I mean, there is no cap on Coaches so if you loved Moore, you could pay him a stupid amount of money and just let him be an assistant OC, which is really what he needs to be doing anyway. Kid has no business being the OC for a team that is supposed to be talented enough to compete for a championship. I mean, isn't that how we got in the situation we were in for 10 years? It's just mind numbing on the surface of things, that we do this. How can any franchise say they are serious about winning when they make a move like that and elect to keep the Backup we had last year? That, to me, is what has been so bad wrong with the Cowboys for too long.

This would be nothing against Dak. It would be all about trying to put yourself in the best possible position to win a Championship.

26 is not a validation that he can win a Championship and Brady didn't look "cooked" to me. He looked like a guy who saw the writing on the wall. He had no talent in that Offense and he had no contract after. Hell, not even a guarantee that Belichick would be back as HC. Brady saw the writing on the wall IMO but I mean, come on, he still beat us. He still beat Dak and the Cowboys. You can say 26 all day and half the night but the guy still beat us with zero Offensive Weapons last season.

nah...it makes no sense at all on several points......why would we want to unless we think Dak will never be able to do it....and the biggest question is are we a Tom Brady away from a superbowl….and how would tom brady fit with McCarthy west coast offense...do we think it will come together in one year...because not sure if Brady will be around in 2 years.....

He's basically been running a variation of the WC his entire career. He would be fine in it IMO. Accuracy is super important in that Offense because it's all about YAC.

You tag Dak this year and it costs you like 27. If you could get Brady done for, say 20, that's like 7 mil over what all of the Pay Dak fan base is willing to pay, either way. I mean, your gonna have to pay a backup QB either way right? If you keep Cooper Rush, you are gonna have to pay him 7 to 8 hundred Thousand at a minimum because he's a 4th year player and probably more because he plays QB.

If you can do that, then bring them both in and let them compete for the job. Let the best guy start and the other can back up. Draft a QB to develop and lets do this thing. If Brady is truly the better QB, start him and win games. Let Dak back up and learn. If Dak wins out, then Brady will want out anyway and he will work with the Cowboys to get to a team where he can start. This way, you give the team the best possible chance to compete for a championship IMO.

Ok.. That's fair.. Just don't tell me 35+ million for Dak is smart.
It can be depending on the quarterback he becomes. I’m not of the belief he’s hit his ceiling. If you think he’s hit his ceiling then I can see why you’d think 35 million is a bad investment. To me it’s more of a waste to waste 20-25 million on a 43 year old quarterback. History says that’s a fail.
