I don’t think you understand. Pappy is basically saying the people that believe we shouldn’t pay Dak a ridiculous amount of money/believe we should move on is not as small as everyone says. A lot of people like to say we’re a “minority” when it’s a 6-4 ratio of Dak lovers to People not fond of the idea paying Dak a ridiculous amount of money. That’s not too big of a gap.
Oh, I completely understand!! And if the percentages where flipped not in favor for Dak in the same context, the majority would also be wrong.

Dak by every QB metric has proven he's good enough to build around and win with. Troy stated he should get paid...yeah he also critized Dak but Troy also critized Rodgers yesterday. All QBs have bad games!!
McCarthy called Dak great and able to handle full offense..

This thread is really a troll

That money you’d save on Bridgewater basically allows you to re-sign Maliek Collins and Anthony Brown. Two guys who are replaceable with draft picks.

I am thinking to use the money to resign Quinn.

It depends what the money is. They aren’t going to overpay for him and if he wants a deal like he had last season then they’d sign him regardless of what they do with Dak. Fringe guys like Collins are the ones in jeopardy not guys like Quinn.

$25M sounds about right for Teddy. He's basically an Alex Smith clone IMO - smart, accurate, but with a noodle of an arm that can't drive it anywhere.

If you need a bus driver to just not screw it up for an otherwise talented roster, Teddy is your guy. If your offense is on the mat and you need a bridge QB to make it functional while you figure out the future, Teddy is your guy.

What he isn't is a guy who's going to take your team deep in the playoffs. Look how many times the Chiefs went one-and-done with him, then look what happened as soon as they took off the governor with Mahomes.

A team like Chicago or Indianapolis could use Teddy - maybe even New Orleans could as their post-Brees starter. We don't need Teddy though. We need Dak.

Teddy takes $4 million over 4 years like Dak was paid, I would take him. Teddy at $25 million per season? He’ll no. Draft a crappy QB and roll the dice with that. Teddy isn’t good enough to eat up $25 million of cap space.

Teddy's injury history hurts his value while Dak's durability and established relationship with the current roster helps his value. Dak is clearly worth more, the question then is, "how much more?".

Teddy is the definition of a dink and dunk bus driver QB. Not even close to being in Dak's category.

Dak gets more respect around the NFL than he does from his own fanbase. This thread is a perfect example of the disrespect Dak deals with on an ongoing basis lol...

QB contracts are out of hand. There might be 3, maybe 4 QBs who could push the value of the position. Everyone else is overpaid. How much should Dak be overpaid? Will there be some kind of structure for player salaries in the next CBA? I would imagine the player's union would like to see some of that QB money distributed around a little more. Save for that, Dak will be overpaid as all but a few QBs are.

Ya buddy but with Dak you don't have the above Teddy talents as Dak is a gunslinger and accurate and can take the team on his shoulders and win win-win.
Merry Xmas man and say Hello to Santa for me will you!

You know .... after thinking about this topic, I think I will change my mind.

Not because I think Teddy is as good as Dak.
Not because I think Teddy is a better bargain at $25 than Dak is at $35.

No, the reason you overpay Teddy Bridgewater is to UNITE THE FAN BASE.

At first, everyone would be excited for something new, as expected. But give it Midway through the year and I would expect 80-90% of the fans realizing what a crappy move this is and start demanding his replacement.

And for Cowboys-Zone? No more pages and pages of threads taking about the same topic over and over again, with half against and half for the QB. Instead everyone would be in agreement that Teddy, especially at $25 million a year, was a TERRIBLE signing.

The Cowboys would not benefit from it, but Cowboys-Zone sure could.

At this point we get it! Half this board doesn't want Dak. But it doesn't really matter because he will be signed. It's not a popularity contest. The personnel people in the organization are on board with him as well as the coach.

Can you PLEASE stop all of the posts about how bad Dak is? I'm sure the other half of the board (me included) are tired of it. It would be different if there was a debate about keeping him inside the club but there isn't. If he fails our team will fail with him so we can only root for him to be successful if we care about our teams success.

Can you either support our QB for the next decade instead of constantly ripping him down. I'm hoping that MM does wonders with him and he leads us to the promise land.
Is he signed yet? Maybe you got a breaking news alert I didn't. Until he's signed you don't know what they are going to do. If you need a safe space where it is only Dak positive threads why don't you start the Dak positive forum or here's another awesome idea don't come in threads you think are Dak is bad threads.

I think that Dak is better than Teddy but I think we could also make the playoffs with Teddy. An extra 10 million would give us one really nice player to go along with him. For me, adding a single starting lineman isn’t enough to offset the gap between Teddy and Dak

That being said, I think the league may have seen the best of Teddy and I’m not certain there is room for much more improvement. What we’ve seen is likely what we would get if we signed him

While Dak has a ridiculous year statistically I think there is still has a lot of room for improvement, particularly when it comes to decision-making, technique and understanding coverages. These are all aspects of his game that can benefit from experience and *coaching*. I expect Dak to continue to improve now that we have so many fresh eyes around him.

He will never be Dan Marino but I think he can certainly elevate enough aspects of his game to move up to the “very good” level and once he gets there he has the demeanor, consistency and drive to maintain that level for many years. You can win Super Bowls with a QB like that.

Speaking of consistency, one thing that is rarely acknowledged by the Dak detractors is his consistency in role and his durability.

Dak has started 64 consecutive regular season games. That’s four consecutive seasons without a missed game. He has never missed a game. Let that sink in.

21 - The number of seasons a Cowboy QB started every game

8 - The number of Cowboy QBs to start every game in a season

5 - The number of Cowboy QB’s to do it more than once

3 - The number of QB’s to do it in consecutive seasons

1 - The number of QBs to do it in three consecutive seasons

1 - The number of QBs to do it in four consecutive seasons

You know why I don't mention consistency is because that's like taking care of your kids and not committing crimes sir. You're supposed to do,that so you'll get no credit from me for doing what your supposed to do. Yeah some players are injury prone and get knocked for it but just showing up to your job when healthy gets no credit at all.

And how is that relevant to the claim that Bridgewater made our defense look inept?

It did appear that the Saints did what they wanted to do...but the Cowboys offensive game plan was utterly pathetic.
They wanted to score 12 points and score no TDs?

I mean Tua and Burrow are gone before we even have a chance to trade. You’re gonna sell the farm to go up 10 picks for Justin Herbert? Kids a soft spoken and inconsistent QB. No one outside of Tua and Burrow is worth trading up for.

I see your vision but it would be foolish for a team this good with the ability to make serious noise these next few seasons to just pivot and turn left like that. No rookie QB is gonna give us a better chance to win
Our current QB is inconsistent and most are happy to pay him 35+ million. We most likely have Dak anyway like KC did with Smith and Mahomes. I think that situation could be ok giving the pick a year to get nfl ready while still having Dak there.
