How do we know he has been bad enough if he didn't get a chance to get on the field as often.
Heck Devin Smith, all he did was make plays in the PS games, and the 1st 3 games. Then he was inactive every game after that.
I'm with you on Smith, but by most accounts Hill looked awful when he played.

Garrett looking down the barrel of getting fired probably took away development snaps. Hill and Jackson were the 5th guys in their respective rotations. Hill got 11%, Jackson 7%.

We picked Hill for his size and get off on the snap. We knew he was a developmental player. Looking at our roster during the draft, we had our 3techs for this year in Collins and Crawford. We needed one for 2020. So we took the developmental guy with a perceived higher physical upside instead of a play now player. He's not a guy we can count on for much next year, but if he's useful in rotation and improving, he's on track.

Let's see what manner of improvement that Hill makes in terms of enhancing his strength in the season yet to come. That was his main bugaboo in 2019. It'll be good for him if it's significantly improved and probably tragic for him if it's not. Strength is a quality that an NFL DT must have in abundance. If it's lacking, he's in trouble. Dogged dedication is required to achieve that status. A lack of it wouldn't be advantageous to achieving that end. Let's just hope for the former.

T. Hill couldn’t make the 45 man active roster most games. What are the chances he doesn’t make the roster cut downs to the final 53 this year?

Normally I would say that he makes it but he has been bad enough I put it at 50/50.
Man I wish you were talking about Tyreek Hill lol

I THINK Hill will get a fair shot in camp, but Tomsula wont screw around with him if he's the same as last year. He will be a cut prior to the first preseason game lol. This group of coaches wont be nearly as accepting as the last. Its do your job at a high level, or get to steppin.

Let's all hope Jerry learned his lesson. He can't be Captain "Save a Ho" and expect better results

After a few trips to the Pancho's buffet in the off season and he will be golden!

The fact that Hill was riding the bench while we were activating street free agent DTs is troubling.

Fans like to go on about how "coaches don't play my pet cat because they're stewpid", but really, the coaches are practicing with these players almost every day - they know who's good and who's not. Coaches can sometimes be stubborn, but they're not blind. If someone's riding the pine, it's probably for a reason, and a 2nd rounder riding the pine behind 4 other DTs is a REALLY bad sign.

Hill was benched in college because he was a lazy player who didn't get along with coaches, and he's been benched in the pros because he's a lazy player who doesn't get along with coaches. He has some natural talent, but not enough enough to beat out guys like Covington or Hyder who've been in the league for a few years. Hill's a guy who needs to take coaching in order to succeed, and he has shown no interest in taking coaching. So my expectations for him are very, very low.

Why don’t you, since apparently, you must be tough? Or at least, on the Internet, that is...

Maybe the new coaching staff finds a way to lite a fire under his fat arse. He's better than he showed us last year.

I probably could. Hes just a big softy and every coach and player on the team should let him know that on a daily basis.
