I'm with you on Smith, but by most accounts Hill looked awful when he played. How do we know he has been bad enough if he didn't get a chance to get on the field as often.
Heck Devin Smith, all he did was make plays in the PS games, and the 1st 3 games. Then he was inactive every game after that.
Garrett looking down the barrel of getting fired probably took away development snaps. Hill and Jackson were the 5th guys in their respective rotations. Hill got 11%, Jackson 7%.
We picked Hill for his size and get off on the snap. We knew he was a developmental player. Looking at our roster during the draft, we had our 3techs for this year in Collins and Crawford. We needed one for 2020. So we took the developmental guy with a perceived higher physical upside instead of a play now player. He's not a guy we can count on for much next year, but if he's useful in rotation and improving, he's on track.
