He does have some skill. I'm perplexed as to why the last coaching staff didn't use him very much. That said, if there's a playmaking TE available at the right spot, I'm not going to let Jarwin stop me from drafting him.
Perplexed? His last name isn’t Witten and he wasn’t best friends with the former HC and didn’t vacation with the owners.

it's not all good for jarwin. His first 7-8 games this year he was catching only 64% of his targets. Infact the only 2 guys catchint above 75% was witten and zeke. Go look at his NYJ game, all of 4 yards. Definately worth keeping, but still needs another guy who can develop behind him.

It’s clear that you don’t understand most WR and receiving tight ends have a catch % between 55-70%.

Of course Zeke and Witten are going to have high percentage catch rates because the vast majority of their passes are checkdowns.

You're being irrational.

Just sign a vet (or 2 if you want training camp competition) to replace JWit.

Use the draft capital on defense.

Clearly you don't understand that so are jarwins catches. You seem to think jarwin runs downfield then makes a long catch. When in fact most of his catches resemble what witten does, he just has more ability to run after the catch an make guys miss etc.

No you're right......in fact, 35-40 passes by the TE position were the most under Mike offense with the Packers.
Sure. Not like if you acquire a playmaker TE that you can't use both TEs frequently.
The Eagles have Ertz and still use Goedert a whole bunch.
Couple years ago New England used Gronk and Martellus Bennett plenty.
Think it would add a whole new element to the offense...

New England actually selected TEs Gronk and A. Hernandez in the same draft. The more playmakers, the better!

Curious to see Mike evaluate him. We will know after that if he still isn’t playing.

Jermichael Finley was important for Green Bay when he was there.

He also caught some big passes if I remember correctly. His stats didn't look invisible. Several years with 50+ catches, around 14 ypc. 8 TDs one year, though the TDs weren't very consistent. Not bad as a third or fourth option.

This is why I don't see TE as a priority.......let this kid start and coach up his blocking skills. Between he and Shultz ( ms?), we're fine IMO.

Ok...……..now show every missed block by Jarwin that killed a pass play or a run play.

I don't think some of you guys even understand that a TE has two jobs and both are equally as important.

Shultz is also NOT fine. You need 3 good TE's, especially in a run heavy offense like we have.

Jarwin is a WR, think of it that way.

We are 100% not fine. Its as weak a position on the team as any.

can i pump up my pick in the 4th round? Harrison Bryant ;). Nothing wrong with creating competition. Especially the positions where there isn't an absolute starter.

It’s worth noting that tight ends were invisible in the Packers’ offenses under McCarthy. I bet you can’t even name a single tight end during that run from 2009 to 2016 where they made the playoffs every year.

Instead, he likes a pass catching fullback out of the backfield.

That makes it even less important. I’m on the Blake Jarwin train and heck, yeah I’d give Dez a shot too, why not?

Jarwin, Beasley, and Cooper were a nice receiving trio last year. After seeing the results I'm now wishing we would have kept Beas.

That’s utter BS.

The average yards per throw to Witten was 6.4 yards.

Jarwin’s was 8.9 yards and I would wager that average got dinged because we threw Jarwin some TE bubble screens.

Witten needs 113 yards next year to become the all time receiving yards leader for a white guy. Thats important.....I kid, I kid of course not

How can anyone watch this and than say Dak stinks and can't throw the ball or it's always off and not accurate.....

To comment on your post and reason for the video, I think Jarwin can be very decent. However, I wouldn't mind getting Ebron, Henry or Eifert to go with Jarwin.
Um, I counted 11 pass plays in that video. Five of them were bad passes, three were TERRIBLE passes. Just saying.

True to Daks nature and needs to be cleaned up. Some were on the spot especially in tight coverage and on the out. The others were very underwhelming passes that the Jarwin has to adjust to. Specifically on the out or wide open. Hit them in stride and I guarantee those yac will come.

I didn't see 5 bad passes, you could argue on 3-4 Jarwin had to adjust but did you watch the pocket? Those passes Dak was either running to avoid the rush or had someone in his face or DL hands where in the air. You expect perfect passes while in the pocket clean, sure, but ones where he is getting pressured I don't get. This video shows Dak doing things that some claim he can't do including reading the defense and going through his reads.
