Will our new staff get to see our players before the draft and free agency?

No not all. No OTA scheduled. This team as a whole won't come together with the coaching staff until the summer.

Does anyone know when the staff can start working with players at all? I know there are rules against certain things but I have to believe that certain players need time with the new coaches watching film and learning the new system.

The staff is not needed for the players to watch film and the "new system" hasn't even been decided on and the new staff hasn't even been completely hired.

The majority of the players work out at The Star. So yes in most cases they will meet the new coaching staff.

Is it safe to assume that some players are at the Star this week?

Teams with new HC coaches can have team workouts starting April 6th.
All other teams can start on the 13th.

League year starts I think March 18th. So I believe players can come in for official work outs at the training center.
Voluntary before that I think. There is nothing saying the coaches can't meet and talk to the players before that.

I would think they would so they can get a feel of their attitude and such before they make decisions.

Plenty of film to watch if nothing else.

Exactly. He and the staff have plenty of time to review film (not just of last year) and grade the current roster. Compare notes with McClay and begin mapping a FA & draft plan.

I'm sure MM & other members of the staff have met or at least had some form of communication with every player (or almost every).

If i was a new coach, i would want to get a feeling of each players commitment and \ or any apprehension they have about the organization or me so I can either try to mend the fence or plan to move on without the player.

If you happened to give a flying you know what... every player who wants to be apart of this team going forward should have already made a few appearances in the building to meet the new staff and see what the expectations etc... will be like

Big Mike had nothing but time to watch players on teams that were on his target list. He nailed that interview because he came with the idea of winning now and already had a partial plan in place, including some self assessment of what he needed to change in his MO.

I am not sure Booger has ever been this comfortable with a hire of a HC.
