How do we get to the level of these 2 Superbowl teams?

To get to the level of these teams the Jerry would need to fire Jerry and hire a real GM and than get lucky with 3 years of draft picks.

I think main thing is being more consistent in their play. I don't care to mimic another team. What last year you needed to be like the Rams or be like the Pats? Now this year KC and 49ers? Hell Rams went from SB to out of the playoffs in 1 season.

and Defense ?
- we are so woefully behind the Niners - we spent way too much time on Marinelli and his scheme and preference, we failed at acquiring playmaking DBs,
and the best was a converted S to CB via Kris Richard and we did not scheme our LBs in the best position according to pluses and minuses.

- also we still need a war daddy that shows up big down the stretch and in the most critical games - that's a nick bosa
and Niners are led by a collection of Bosa, Buckner, and LB Greenlaw (who Cowboys were very interested in draft) and that teams gets the turnovers - we flat out do not.
they are adept at getting after the QB and sacks - we simply do not do that on a consistent basis.

Teams out physical us - and they manage to eventually break us down, and the more winning, more competitive teams get the ebest of us
- the more losing, piss poor teams like Skins Giants, dolphins, we manage to be able beat up. That's a coaching issue ..first.

We need the coaches who can change the way we play defense - and we need to nail the player personnel that would have brought us the difference playmakers throughout.

We are FAR off... The 49ers just threw the ball 8 times... I repeat EIGHT times yesterday and put up 37 points. The coaching and execution on that team is incredible.

.... and we would have went pass happy to a count of 43 attempts and abandon the run in the 2nd half, where our coaches also always tend to struggle to make adjustments.

I don't think we could ever be like the Chiefs because Mahomes is really that whole team. He's the best player in the NFL right now.

What we can replicate from the Chiefs is an offense that creates more explosive plays.

2 problems...

Dak is not an explosive big play QB.

Zeke was not an explosive RB at all this past season.

Defensively on paper I don't see us too far from the 9ers but when it plays out on the field our defense is nowhere near theirs.

I like our front 7 with Quinn. We need some help at DT.

Byron would be a big loss IMO. Especially with this coordinator.

I don't think this team is built to have a pass happy "Air Coryell" style of offense. It's built to be a ball control/time-of-possession offense.

Swap coaching staffs with the 49ers in 2019 and the Cowboys are in the Super Bowl. The Cowboys have better players on offense than the 49ers.

I'd like to know who Dez was ever distracting?

The media and some fans who wanted to make him out to be a TO or Antonio Brown when he wasn't?
Did you watch All or Nothing?

Dez is an idiot!

I agree 100% about the coaching and Dallas having a much better offense then San Fran.

I think another problem though is the overall culture and how our guys view themselves individually as their own brand and they try to display that brand on the field.

I mean there is actually reports about other players being upset when Jaylon does their dance.. What kind of crap is that?

The Cowboys are more focused on their brand and their contract situation then getting a W in the win column.

Have a football person at the head of the organization who has an actual vision as to what a football team should look like and play like.

What the Cowboys have are the kings of catch phrases who are like dogs chasing cars. Always following someone else's lead instead of having an ingrained organizational philosophy as to how to build a football team.

You are describing Head Coaching problems.

Jimmy benched a starter for helping an opponent up off the field when the Cowboys were losing.

Dak nor Zeke need to be like anything on the Chiefs. Both, need to come into camp ready to play, contribute, and win; along with the rest of the team. Let's see if this coaching staff can command some discipline. Both fundamentally and structurally.

Invest heavily in defense. Safety, DTs, LBs etc. and keep churning the roster to get better at all positions.

We're probably already there, just a matter of smart coaches making good game plans and doing smart things during the games. Both of these Super Bowl teams have looked unbeatable, and they've both looked rather ordinary, at different times during the season.

But of course luck is involved too. That RB for SF didn't get cut 6 times for no good reason, but he goes in there on Sunday for SF and makes GB's run defense look worse than Dallas vs the Rams in the playoffs last year :)
