1. I think analytics twitter needs to step back and count to 10 with some deep breaths to allow blood to return to their brain pans. The are now arguing Ryan Tannehill is responsible for Tenn's success. Yes the 21st ranked passing offense really carried that squad. And we have 7 years of Tannehill being so awesome....

2. I think the Dak whining threads are great. They are one stop shopping for whom to place on ignore. This cleaned up environment makes the site much more user-friendly, and well... sane. So thank you dolts. I can check likes and get a bunch of numbskulls at once. It's like a cure for migraines.

3. I think it is almost sad that Jason Garrett ended up taking a demotion to OC. If he is not very good in NY his career as a HC may well be over. Would you bet on a 2nd year Danny Dimes and that NY offense? I wouldn't. But I also think you now know why Jerry held off and forced JG to honor his contract. He wasn't gonna walk with his pay check to NY before his contract ended.

4. I think I am concerned DAL coaches are missing he Senior Bowl but I do probably end up in the camp that overrate that exercise. Self-evaluation has to be job 1.

5. I think the two most insufferable non-obvious troll camps in NFL twitter/social media are Analytics guys and Draft guys. Both for the same reason. They are simply overwhelmed by confirmation bias to the extent they are no longer focused on reality or the actual game. The Cowboys or Pack or whomever you follow are probably not drafting your pet cat. You have crap odds. 1 in 32 isn't good. When they don't just shut up and move on, lol.

5a. Note: The 49ers have passed for less than 100 yards per game in the post-season on the way to the Super BOWL. So please shut up about the Chiefs as some rock solid evidence passing is king.

6. I think Go Chiefs!!

7. I think people miss the impact a different voice can have on players. We saw Dak really benefit last year from new drills and coaching to see him massively improve his aggressiveness and his footwork and his fumbling. Apply this across the board and the team will be poised to make a playoff run. Helps if the other team doesn't know your entire playbook too.

8. I think this off-season will actually be quite fun. This team is not status quo in any way. The draft will mean something as the new staff tries to find their guys.

9. I think I am quite happy Witten is going to NY. That will be at least 1 TE our safeties and LB can actually guard.

10. I think anyone is lying if they think they have any idea what this defense will look like next year. Nolan is years removed from designing a defense and no telling what he has picked up or what he feels of this personnel.

The are now arguing Ryan Tannehill is responsible for Tenn's success.
He was the top rated QB from the time he took over til the end of the regular season. If you watched any of those games, he was throwing some amazing passes. So, I have no problem giving him recognition for the performance he delivered.

Was it just a hot streak or the beginning of a renaissance? don't know but he clearly played a large role in turning TN offense around and allowing them to get as far as they did.

2. There seem to be many negative threads popping up, Dak, as usual. Then there are a crap load just whine, whine, whine threads. About the past 25 years still, and comparing this player to that player, or anything and everything. Just like game day threads during the playoffs. 8 out of 10 post comparing Dak this Dak that, he didn't pull himself out about Zeke comments. Makes me not even want to look at 80% of the threads anymore, which I have not done as much lately. Too bad the front page is covered with them.
This should be the time looking forward to a new era and what may be possible. But no, it is the same old crap.

4. I am pretty sure they will be sending scouts. I seen where Leon Lett will be interviewed after the Senior Bowl, so maybe is is the lone coach going there. However, I really do not want Lett back, unless he is an assistant, not a position coach.

8. I agree, this off-season will be fun and it has meaning as to what it could have been under Garrett and the same crap. These are the type of threads I would like to see. What can happen going forward. Not what happened in the past. We can't change that, so why whine about it.

Tannehill had a very solid season because he had the rushing attack to create wide open TD passes.
Tannehill only passed for 228 yards per game.
That's essentially what Dak did as a rookie.
He still had some recurring issues namely his sack % was very high. ~10%. (By contract
Dak is at 6.2% for his career)
That's been a career long issue for RT but is less an issue when you are rushing it at such a great clip.

Dak passed for over 70 yards more per game and took fewer sacks.
Dallas offense went as Dak went.
TENN offense went as Henry went and RT just took advantage with TD passes.

2. Again for a 4 year body of work Dak has bested his ENTIRE draft class. Anyone still crying is either a troll, begging for attention or they are just too goofy to bother with. Far easier to block and keep your sanity. A lot of people wanted him tp prove it this year and he led the league in passing. He's accomplished all he can without team awards across 4 years and even then he has 2 division titles to his name already.

4. Yea, they'll send scouts but coaches can glean a lot. Again I prolly overrate it because there's not much else going on. I def understand they need to take stock of in house talent in the most thorough fashion possible.

8. Precisely. Even if one was a massive JG fan you had to feel it was time for a fresh start for both parties.

It amazes me how many people speak on analytics and yet they have no idea what it actually means

The amazing part is the analytics guys not knowing what the analysis actually shows. But that's what happens when you get a little mini-cult of people who think they are smart all touting made up stats as the end all be all.

Lol what dude? Just admit you don’t know what you are talking about and move on. No one says analytics is the “end all be all.” If you actually paid attention and understood it, you would know that.

If you really wanna demonstrate the value of NFL analytics provide something/anything it has proven.

But to be clear, I didn't criticize analytics itself but the analytics nerd herd on social media.
I am very aware data is King.
It's just misusing that data is even worse many times than not having it at all.

I don’t know what analytic nerds you follow on social media but thats your problem. I have yet to see any one give Ryan Tannehilll all the credit for their success. But as soon as he became the starter, Henry’s numbers went way up........so don’t say he’s been good because of Henry when the data shows Henry is benefitting off of tannehill more than tannehill benefitting off of Henry.

Lol, a person with a low recognition base...will always strive to drag a person actually discussing issues, down to his level and then proceed to kill him with his own bias.

LOL at the OP accusing anyone else of "confirmation bias" and "mini-cults" in the same thread.

Irony much?

I disagree, I think Garrett is well placed to stick a knife into the back of another HC. Just like he did to Wade.

Naw, you don't get away with a slander label...if the Titans got ahead with their running game, AND a defense that was game for most teams, then Tannehill was good enough. By no means, was he even an over aged Brees, Rogers, or Brady...when in catch-up mode of double scores and pass dominant. Good teams became more difficult when the running game didn't convert to scores.

Play action was adequate when the ground game gave them a leg to stick with it. Their defense was usually pretty sound...so, it wasn't just Tannehill, but the defense and Henry, when successful.

I still think that analytics misses the point of what the game is about and the need to play a game when it arrives. Practice and heart means a lot to a team...as does home field, to many games.

I guess the team still appreciates it's Scouting Department, but the need for changed aspects for team player's needs has to be forged and then put out in the field.
