last time I checked, the defense is what did Brady in and not Eli.
I'm sure Eli throwing more touchdowns and having a higher rating helped too........ (technically yeah Eli out throwing him did do him in, both teams had stastically comparable defenses)

Funny considering the 2007 cowboys had 5 pro bowlers on defense and was stastically on par with the giants defense that year.....
Yeah the 2007 team alone had 5 pro bowlers on defense for the cowboys. People act like the giants defense lead them to victory alone but if that was the case then why did the cowboys and patriots lose to the giants when there defense was stastically on par with them ???

the Giants defense gave up an average of what 14-16 points in both Super Bowls runs....don’t tell me that didn’t play a factor in it.

Eli outperformed every opposing QB in the second SB run.

He threw 9 TDs and only one INT that play-off run.

Divisional and Championship game the patriots defense actually gave up LESS combined points than the Giants for both superbowl runs..........

Let's stop pretending like the Giants had this magical defense that was 5x better than the competition and that Eli just sat there and did nothing

He had a lot of luck on his side as well. If I’m not mistaken, In the first SB on the last drive of the game, he threw a sure fire pick right to Asante Samuel in their territory and dropped it. One of the easiest picks he would have had. Later he did his famous chuck and duck and a hell of a catch was made for him.

I’m sure he will get in, but he was a less than average QB for his career. What is he 44th in all time passer rating, hardly speaks of hall of fame to me.

So Joe Flacco is going into the HOF too? Right? He’s basically Eli Manning of the AFC.
150 less touchdowns, 1 less super bowl MVP, 4 less pro bowls, almost 20,000 less yards........

LOL at "he's basically Eli":rolleyes::rolleyes: (now your REACHING).

Eli Manning of the AFC.

A better example would be Big Ben (same touchdowns, same yards, 2 superbowls as well)

Guess what ? Yeah Ben will end up in the hall too......

It was only 7-10 years ago that Eli owned us. I was terrified of him ripping apart our useless secondary back then.

If he goes in HOF it will be a big joke totally lose credibility for HOF

Yes, he'll go into the HOF. Because he was MVP on 2 SB's (voted on by East Coast sports media), Played in NY (ground zero for the same sports media), and he's from one of the original NFL franchises.

Make no mistake the originals carry weight, especially Pittsburg, GB, and the NYG.

If it was based on stats Eli wouldn't get in. But, if Lynn Swann gets in (woefully weaker stats than Drew Pearson) then so will Eli.

There are QB's with only a single Super Bowl win in the HOF and even a couple that have zero Super Bowl wins or NFL championships prior to the Super Bowl. Some of the talking heads on TV say that because Romo never got a Super Bowl win that will keep him from getting in. These days Super Wins are the measuring stick for QB to get to the HOF and Manning has two. I've said this for decades that they only ones that should be voting on who gets into the HOF are those still alive that are in the HOF. 99% of the sportswriters who are the voters never played a down and yet they decide the biggest honor for these players.

If all you have to do is hit magic numbers like "2 super bowls" or "500 home runs" then why even bother to vote? Clearly there are plenty of voters who don't believe in these magic numbers because right now Eli has too many "no" votes from polled actual HoF voters.

Cowboys where literally top 10 in all the major defense stats (yards allowed, interceptions, touchdowns allowed).

Stats like total yards allowed, rushing touchdowns allowed, rush yards allowed there where literally exactly on par with the Giants defense...

It's a myth that Eli was on the only playoff team with a solid defense, even his competitor the patriots where playing lights out on defense for the entire playoff run

He had a good run. Better this way than to try to stay too long.
Apparently will announce Friday.
The Baby face Killer, Mardi Gras bead slinger with receivers saying "throw me something mister", Archie's baby boy, Winner of the first football game in Jerry World, Patriot Slayer, Tom Brady can't beat him, He is his brother's keeper, and 2 time NFL World Champion of the World.

I will miss him.
