Are we really going to dump everything into Dak?

To me, it’s simple. Give Dak a contract higher than Wentz, less than Wilson— with nice incentives if he produces well in the playoffs and gives him more money than Wilson through escalators if he wins a SB or MVP award.

There is so much posturing going on by both sides— it is impossible to know what deal is on the table and what all the sticking points are.

I don’t believe that it is impossible for us to win with Dak as a QB. I also don’t believe signing him “mortgages our future” any more than signing any franchise QB would.

I believe a deal will get done that will work for both sides, and this new coaching staff and approach will give this team it’s best chance to win since Parcells was walking the halls.

Well obviously you are going to pay somebody but the point remains the same. Dak could not get it done with the current salary structure but somehow you expect them to get it done with 35 million less.
Dak couldnt get it done now? Can you imagine the list of QB's that would have been thrown away if they couldnt get it done to the level Dak has in his first 4 years?
Some HOF's in this category.

Leave your hatred for Dak aside and realize its a team sport. Its time to accept that solid starting QB's in the NFL are getting 30m+ per year.
Eli Manning has SB wins for christ sake.

Just amused at your embarrassing lack of an education.

“Without” is 1 word.

The rest of your stupid, run-on sentence was just as laughable.
You knew the intent like I already said, when your stupidity runs out of useful input, attack and insult . Looks like you are the English police besides chief idiot. Same old don't like the message kill the messenger.

LOL..........Dak led the NFL in late comeback wins his first 3 years. Even turds like you admitted he was clutch. OR did you forget?

Maybe you forgot the playoff game last season where Dak threw for 300 yards and 2 TD's and beat the Seahawks in the playoffs.

Cowboys record under Dak is 40 and 24 in 4 years.

Nothing mediocre about any of it.

You are a total and complete joke on here and I hope you enjoy getting your sorry butt kicked around the board on a regular bases.

I will definitely enjoy watching you cry the blues as Dak is here for a long time. :lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao:
Same old insults and come backs, you should get some help with your mental problems.

I am never against drafting a QB if you think he is the next Payton Manning or Mahommes. But the odds of finding a QB as good as Dak is (and he is better than I thought he was going into the season in 19) is easier said than done.

We should have signed Dak when we had the chance to a team friendly deal. Now he may end up playing out the season on the FT.
He’s not that good though. He stat pads and beats up on weak competition. That’s what changed you mind? That’s sad if so because I don’t get how putting up stats when games are out of reach and beating up bums is good.

Average to good? Funny how it keeps changing.

I guess you realized how dumb your previous comment was that Dak was backup material?

40-24 Cowboys record under Dak..............Leading the NFL in passing and leading the #1 offense in the NFL just makes your average comment look as dumb as the rest of your opinions. '

NO anxiety at all, just laughter. Gives REAL fans like me all the ammo I need to kick a troll like you around the board.
Never said Dak was a back up, that is your spin ,always have said he is average to good but for folks of your low ilk he must be referred to as great even though you posted he was like #13 tier 3 or 4 wasn't it, doesn't that make him good to average? learn to read (RIF) and understand. As for #1 all world Dak how that 8-8 feel?

My only comment is: Dak will be signed. You don't have to like it, but it will happen. He may not be what you want in a QB but he has established three things:
  1. He is a leader. His teammates respect and follow him.
  2. He is dependable, durable and coachable.
  3. He can win.
My question to you, Redball Express: Can you handle it?
All them three things you established are basically non football skills lol. He doesn’t win because didn’t we miss the playoffs so how is that winning going? What does Dak do good as a passer of the football?

I think you are underestimating how good Dak is.

I ve been a fan of this team for 50+ years.

Ever since FA appeared, we have tried to beat the system and try to circumvent the rules.

Now the system has boxed us into a corner.

The team has tried Dak as the Franchise QB and just can't get it done.

Multi-million dollar OL..

Multi-million dollar RB..

soon to be multi-million dollar WR..

soon to be multi-million dollar QB

No titles on the wall..

HC and staff just fired.

Sorry.

Paying Dak at this point will destroy this team for the next 5 years or however long Dak is signed for.

The Jones made a huge decision to finally end the Garrett Experiment in favor of a real football coach.

They righted the ship. But now they are about to mortgage all the future on Dak?

Beyond belief to me.

We have worked for decades to fix our cap, draft wisely, hire capable executives like Will Clay to steer the course..

and we are going to sink everything into a 4th rd draft pick who has come up short like Dak has?

Impossible to believe but it's about to happen.

Whoda think it?

Don't want to beat this into the ground but this team is really in a pickle.

Pass the ketchup and chili.

I need something to disguise this hotdog as I am being asked to eat this thing as a fan.

I know there are tons of threads screaming about alternative paths for this.

As I look at teams who have paid their QBs the big contract, I see them on the sidelines and not playing for a SB.

The Vikes, Packers, Commanders, Pat's, Chargers, Carolina and several others nailed to cap numbers that are designed to stop their ambitions.

Only the 9ers with Jimmy G is paid and playing for a title. But look closely.

He did not have a great season. He completed like 6 passes in each half of the NFC Championship.

I think if that is what it takes..

then keep your money Jerrah.

Let Dak walk and find another QB. I could care less if Dak has the team over a barrel or visa versa.

If Dallas pulls the contract off the table..we are free of all this. Dak can hope some other team to spend the huge salaries required to support his average skill sets.

They won't. Plus pay him $35 mil/yr?

Not going to happen.

I would prefer letting McCarthy go find a QB he wants and play ball.

Draft a defense and another QB or sign a FA QB and in a couple of years before all the offensive guys we have signed start retiring. .

we will have a real shot.

For once I want to see a coordinated push with management, coaching and players and fans united in a clear goal we all agree can work.

Too much to ask?

Comments.

This will be good. Lol

I think he’s easily top 10 and maybe top 5. He’s not in the class of Mahommes but who is?

Would Mahommes be Mahommes if he had been playing for Garrett his entire tenure in the NFL. Something tells me no.

We had a relatively healthy roster and still couldn't win the division with the Eagles completely banged up.

Then he has the nerve to ask for 35+ million a year? lolllll

What is the incentive to win a championship when you're paying a mediocre player like they have already done that?
Exactly,, Jerry has created an environment here, a desperate environment, where all you have to do is just flash talent, and we will make you the highest payed at your position.
Its a fools eye, but the drones here will stand behind and support everything that this top brass says is what is right to do for this franchise, because they are "professionals" in their
roles.
I always get called out on this board because I constantly stand by my eye test. If it doesn't pass the eye test, if the talent isn't there, than do not invest, but Im just another ignorant poster that has no clue on how to evaluate talent,,, la da la da...lol
Those that criticize all of us that can actually see, are the true blind.
Its really easy to recognize greatness vs average, just turn on your high tech TV, I don't care where you bought it, everybody has the ability to rewind and review,, lol, but I digress.
Daks a Good QB
Tank is a Good DE
Zeke is a Good/Great RB
Coop is a never healthy very talented could be top 5 WR soon to be payed Great money contract.
Add that all up, and I don't give a damn how much the Cap is increasing, when you constantly invest top shelf contract money in Good players in this league you are going to get beat by other teams that invest tops shelf contract money in top shelf Great players.
Why is this so difficult.

.
