Are we really going to dump everything into Dak?

I have no idea what to think of Dak. At times he looked great, but he completely disappeared against better opposition and was awful with the game on the line this year. The people I see saying he should get paid are just looking at his season stats and probably aren't Cowboys fans who watched every game. I mean the Eagles gave up a bunch of points to the Commanders, Giants, and Dolphins the 3 weeks prior and in the biggest game with the playoffs on the line, we can't even score a touchdown. It was beyond pathetic and from the video I saw it was Dak missing reads and throws (with a few dropped passes mixed in).

The defense was good the last 2 years
LOL 18th in efficiency is “good”?

They’re as awful as it gets at forcing turnovers, which led to our offense having the very worst starting field position in the NFL.

And were they “good” vs the Rams in the playoffs last year? When they got absolutely pummeled by Todd Gurley and CJ Anderson?

Average doesn't win super bowls neither does 8-8 or 9 points in a must win game and Dak choked yet again, but we get it that Darn bad D. Get real, the jokes and laughs are on you.
My worst suspicion is that 2016 and 2018 are his best years and maybe it will be for awhile to come.

The advantages he had those 2 years are long gone. Surprising the league to arrive along with Zeke was enormously fortunate.

He also was. Lucky both those years that the Eagles struggled badly in the last month of each of those seasons and collapsed.

They were setup to collapse again in 2019 but we could not get anything going.

And of course, they won a SB in 2017 with a backup QB..

something impossible for us to imagine.

So none of that puts Dak in leading roles as far as his ability to overcome adversity.

Overcoming adversity is a fundamental ingredient to win SBs.

Dak lacks that after 4 years now.

Hmmmm...

Better than any defense since 07 by far lol we never have a real defense.

Hmmm..

Maybe just a fan for too long.

Maybe I should switch teams?

Might be easier on the BP.

And I prefer Carly Simon..

Vaya con Dios.
If I know so. Like what does he do good as an actual passer of the football? You don’t even know what he does good hence why you can’t even answer the question outside some bs he’s a leader talk. The defense probably saying they didn’t get a lot of help from him either. I see you’re another stats junkie that don’t watch games. Why against the better teams for the most part the D didn’t give up points but your “leader” out here scoring about 10 a game against decent comp when the game mattered. Twice he didn’t and that was the first Eagles game and the Vikings game.

You know best. Good for you.

I ve been a fan of this team for 50+ years.

Ever since FA appeared, we have tried to beat the system and try to circumvent the rules.

Now the system has boxed us into a corner.

The team has tried Dak as the Franchise QB and just can't get it done.

Multi-million dollar OL..

Multi-million dollar RB..

soon to be multi-million dollar WR..

soon to be multi-million dollar QB

No titles on the wall..

HC and staff just fired.

Sorry.

Paying Dak at this point will destroy this team for the next 5 years or however long Dak is signed for.

The Jones made a huge decision to finally end the Garrett Experiment in favor of a real football coach.

They righted the ship. But now they are about to mortgage all the future on Dak?

Beyond belief to me.

We have worked for decades to fix our cap, draft wisely, hire capable executives like Will Clay to steer the course..

and we are going to sink everything into a 4th rd draft pick who has come up short like Dak has?

Impossible to believe but it's about to happen.

Whoda think it?

Don't want to beat this into the ground but this team is really in a pickle.

Pass the ketchup and chili.

I need something to disguise this hotdog as I am being asked to eat this thing as a fan.

I know there are tons of threads screaming about alternative paths for this.

As I look at teams who have paid their QBs the big contract, I see them on the sidelines and not playing for a SB.

The Vikes, Packers, Commanders, Pat's, Chargers, Carolina and several others nailed to cap numbers that are designed to stop their ambitions.

Only the 9ers with Jimmy G is paid and playing for a title. But look closely.

He did not have a great season. He completed like 6 passes in each half of the NFC Championship.

I think if that is what it takes..

then keep your money Jerrah.

Let Dak walk and find another QB. I could care less if Dak has the team over a barrel or visa versa.

If Dallas pulls the contract off the table..we are free of all this. Dak can hope some other team to spend the huge salaries required to support his average skill sets.

They won't. Plus pay him $35 mil/yr?

Not going to happen.

I would prefer letting McCarthy go find a QB he wants and play ball.

Draft a defense and another QB or sign a FA QB and in a couple of years before all the offensive guys we have signed start retiring. .

we will have a real shot.

For once I want to see a coordinated push with management, coaching and players and fans united in a clear goal we all agree can work.

Too much to ask?

Comments.
Yes

We

Are

Going

To

Pay

Dak

I always try to throw a wide net, bro.

As the Wolf told Lil' Red Ridinghood..

"Come closer my dear. What beautiful ears you have"

"All the better to hear you, Wolfie" Red said.

Or something like that. I like stuff where everybody will have an opinion.

Red you are Aminal and I am Hawk, we will form the Road Warriors. OH WHAT A RUSH! Lol

The Cowboys FO seem determined to sign Dak to a big-time long term contract during the 2020 preseason. I still believe that would be a mistake. I like Dak but he hasn't proven he can take the Cowboys to a SB. He wasn't even capable of getting his team to the playoffs in his 4th season. For those that think my position on Dak is being over critical, you should at least be honest enough to admit he made enough mistakes over the course of the 2019 season to cost the team the one more win they needed to make the playoffs. He should be franchise tagged for the entirety of the 2020 season to either earn that log-term deal or earn his walking papers.

Thank God ....... Because anyone who thinks Dak Prescott is not a good QB is a football moron.
Well since we all on here and as far as I can tell aren't a nfl player, coach or anything your take doesn't really mean much just like mine. So if you say football moron okay I'll be that to you since it means nothing. Now what?

So it is hatred because we don't think Dak deserves 35 million - and that the team can be sucessful with that handicap! you guys are ridiculous!

Eli did not take up 20% of the cap either!
I can't explain what your hatred is about or from. Thats for you to figure out.
The reality here is Dak will get paid. He will get paid enough that guys like you will throw your little temper tantrums. You will make snide comments on this forum every time he has an average or below game.
You will be miserable. You can do what you want. Its your life. I don't know why its so hard for some to accept reality.
Remember the manbabies on here trying to flex when Zeke was holding out for a new contract?
Well some of you guys are the manbabies trying to flex over Dak getting a new contract. Its going to happen no matter how much crying you do about it.

Agreed?

Troy also said your bae a stat padder too so shows he might be lying about Average Dak
Whatever helps you sleep at night.

I’m sure it cut you deep when you heard Troy endorse Dak so strongly. Your bottom lip’s still quivering.

Same old insults and come backs, you should get some help with your mental problems.

You deserve nothing less. Same dumb comments from you that get proven wrong instantly.

Im not the clown calling the leading passer that led the #1 offense in the NFL average. LOL

That would be you.

But feel free to make your case. Show me the "average" stats that prove Dak is average? Waiting

Never said Dak was a back up, that is your spin ,always have said he is average to good but for folks of your low ilk he must be referred to as great even though you posted he was like #13 tier 3 or 4 wasn't it, doesn't that make him good to average? learn to read (RIF) and understand. As for #1 all world Dak how that 8-8 feel?

8-8 is a team record, not a reflection of any one players. What felt great was watching Dak lead the #1 offense in football and lead the NFL in passing. It no only vindicated my confidence in his abilities, but made trolls like you look silly. Felt great.

Based on your dumbed down logic, then Zeke is average? LOL

I guess the entire roster is average eh?

As far as "average to good" I have never heard the word good and you in the same sentence talking about Dak.

You’re being a clown.

It’s entirely possible to be both... worthy of a big contract AND still pad stats in losing efforts.

I’m taking Troy at his word. You aren’t.

I’m being a clown because I don’t agree with you on Dak? Sounds like some stuff a little kid would say. An average stat padder isnt worthy of a big contract. Some of y’all act as if y’all getting a piece of the contract.
