Is it? A group of players coming up with a name for themselves despite achieving very little together has meaning. Optics matter. The defense was good, really good, in 2018. They weren't the 70s Steelers or the 2013 Seahawks. Smith's very own Twitter shows he thinks he's more than what he really is, as does his on the field celebrations.

Name is pretty cheesy but if they can back up their play and be an elite unit, I’d let it slide. But until then, they’re an average to below average group of underperforming guys and will be made fun of.

If this does not explain what is broken with this team's culture where the players spend more time and commitment to branding than winning actual games, nothing does.

You're right about the football vs. branding comment. I felt wrong writing it, but I guess I just let the barrage of people saying that get in my head. That said, the name is stupid, and their insistence on promoting it is embarrassing as a fan....especially when they've accomplished nothing.
