I did the tour of the Star this season (finally - last few times I couldn’t get tickets, they sell out months in advance). One thing they pointed out was that the practice facility was open to both active players and ex-players. They pointed out that Charles Haley stops by regularly, for example.

So, either he made a mistake when he put the location OR he’s an ex-player taking advantage of the facility.

By the way, I just don’t get the hate on Dez by you Cowboys Zoners. He’s a Cowboy For Life. He bleeds blue, and he desperately wants back on this team. Isn’t that what we want? How many players walk for money and we blast them; here we have a player who lives and dies with this team and wants to wear the star, and you’re going to kill him for it?

Dez wants to be a situational player who scores red zone touchdowns. I see no problem with bringing him back to do that. If you follow the guy on twitter then you know he has been humbled. He had to step away from the game to get his mind right and he has done that.

I would welcome him back with open arms.
I don't alot of fans hate Dez. A few do. But I think its contentious when people point out that he wasnt the same player he was during his prime. And we have very good reason to be skeptical that he is able to be a productive player anymore

I hope the thought is not to replace Cooper with Dez. Dez might be all kind and cuddly now but I am sure he would reset to the locker room cancer by mid season.

I'd do it. Jerry still loves him and I bet he's learned he can't have the sideline outbursts anymore

I agree. I wouldn't rule it out. I could see a low money, no guarantees deal being made and McCarthy might actually have the balls to tell him what's not acceptable to his face, unlike the other coward.

I'm sure that nobody has to worry about that!

I'm not interested in Dez. He is not even on the team and creating a circus out of this.

We didn’t just bring Witten back. We brought him back AND started him in over 80 percent of the snaps lol

I knew that was a disastrous decision.

It basically told the team, "Look we were 10-6 last year but man having a leader like Witt back will help the team finally get over the hump".

Nevermind the kid losing burn is a bigger threat to defenses, and Jason was here for 15 years.

Can anyone think of a playoff game of import Jason Witten took over or was the difference in?

Yes a HOF player, but no more please.

As for Dez. I'm intrigued because we need an Alpha or two on this team to supplement the Jaylon's and D-Law's on this squad.

Then bring him in. Just play.
I don't think it would hurt to sign him cheap and see what he can do in training camp and preseason. Make him play special teams, see if his route running has changed........ nothing but high reward with that. If he fails, then cut him and move on, no big deal.

I think he could really help this team on offense and returning punts.

I’m 100% for this move. Dez played with passion and always played hard. I would bring him back at tight end in a heart beat. If 90 year old Witten can play 90% of the snaps then Dez can too. And he’s bigger now so he can block better than before.

jerry bring him back.

Not so sure about that. Jerry Jones is unpredictable at best.

"Unpredictable"? Certainly. But not crazy. Anyone who thinks that Dez could replace Cooper falls into the crazy category. It's nothing you need worry about. If Bryant were to ever be signed, it would be guys like Noah Brown and Cedrick Wilson and Devin Smith that would have to worry about it, not Amari Cooper.

Dez ain't coming back.
He wasn't the best route runner when he was here. And he's been out of the league for three years and recently had a torn ACL.
He hasn't had any contact since then.
He's not big enough to play TE, especially when that position calls for blocking linebackers, defensive linemen, etc.
And his love for the Cowboys likely won't outweigh his passion on the field, which will likely include doing the same yelling on the sidelines that he did when he was with the Cowboys.
And then … is MM going to want to bring him back? Dez represents the past, not the future. MM wants to start a new leaf. I doubt Dez is include in that new future.

This is a guy that wanted to draft Johnny Cocaine over the best G in football. A couple years after that draft he doubled down on that view. That’s crazy!!!

If he actually does what you're suggesting? Then tell me about it.

They all have motives. Dez was one of the original Dak scapegoats.

Admitting Dez has value is in some where going against thier Saviour
