Exactly... those guys were truly great.Because the young 20 somethings dont speak of them just means they havent a clue about older players. Doesnt diminish how good they were.
Nahhhh .... It’s because real fans of a team want to win. Who cares about anything else? I’m not a 20 something. I am not a millennial. But I celebrate those who help win Championships over those ergo have gaudy personal stats.

As a fan. Who would you most celebrate? Danny White and Tony Romo? Or Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman?
They aren’t of the same era. Not a good comparison to the argument.

Here’s a better comparison to the argument.

Who would you rather have? Dan Marino or Phil Simms

So you telling me you would rather have Eli Manning behind Center than Dan Marino? Jim Kelly? Fran Tarkenton?

Real fans celebrate greatness whether it’s individual or cumulatively.

I’d rather have the Giants team who won a super bowl. So now we are mixing quarterbacks and different teams? I don’t single out positions because that won’t guarantee a championship. No quarterback has ever won a super bowl on his arm. It’s always a team effort. So whichever quarterback has a ring was the best man for the team’s success. I don’t care about individual accolades if championships aren’t the end result. I play to win. Not to compete. And that’s with everything I do.

That’s what losers do. Really.....
All Pro and especially HOF recognition does exactly that. It recognizes individual talent and achievement that playing on lesser teams doesn’t always provide.

Surely you aren’t calling all of those players losers who didn’t have the opportunity to be on championship teams but were still very talented ?

If you don’t win championships you are a loser. Simple as that. No matter what your personal stats say. If you don’t win. You lost. There’s no grey area.
Ask any one of those guys without a ring what they want most and I guarantee that they will say a championship over the stats.

You are right, I'd rather have tony kukoc over Charles barkely... Barkley never won a title, kukoc has multiple rings.....lol. you are answering knowing who has rings. If you could draft him kelly or eli, if you say eli, you are an idiot.

Now we’re talking basketball? SMDH. I don’t celebrate individual accolades if a championship is not accompanied by them. I care about winning. Not personal stuff. Team stuff. So my opinion is that Eli, no matter what you think of him is a Champion. He did what the Giants needed him to do on the biggest of stages and win multiple times. I couldn’t care less about those who you all feel are better quarterbacks. I care about Championship winning quarterbacks. That’s what I’m looking for.
Name one quarterback who won a Super Bowl solely on his “arm talent”? Show me just one who defied all odds and carried his team to victory. Without a solid defense and all the other key contributors.
