So weird, seeing people worry about what to put on Facebook.
I am so behind the times, but the thing is: I don't really care.

When a death is posted on Facebook you do have to put some thought into the reaction you post. It does feel inappropriate to put a “like” when someone passes.

Yeah, I heard is daughter was with him too...

Such a shame.

What I would do to be a fly in Shaq's head listening to what he is thinking.

Understandable.

This one has seriously hit me square.

I don't know if it's because we so close in age, or that he was killing it off the court in retirement and had so much in front of him, or that I can relate because of having kids myself.

I remember like it was yesterday working with my buddy at Pizza My Heart (then Pizza GoGo) when we both 19 and talking about Kobe Bryant (then 17) and predicting how his career would end up. It's unbelievable he played 20 years which spanned practically my early adulthood. I imagine that is what Lebron James is like for those in their late 20s/early 30s.

I’m sure you understand what I’m saying. Adding a “like” to the posting of someone’s death is almost like you’re saying you’re glad they died. It is important to choose the proper emoticon and at least on Facebook you have options.

For me it's personal because.

1) Life long Laker fan.
2) Kobe and his teammates/coaches brought 5 more titles to the Lakers.
3) Kobe was considered as close as it gets to MJ.
4) Kobe and I are almost the same age.

Those things all mattered, but in the end it was Kobe's work ethic that brought me to tears today. We rarley get to see people work like that unless your working in a very intense atmosphere. I won't list examples, but you know it if you do it. To all the people out there who work with that much passion, i thank you.

I was never a Kobe fan and I certainly was never a Laker fan. I cam to respect Kobe as a family man and admire him coaching his daughter's basketball team. I'm feeling so bad for his wife and young daughters that he leaves behind. That void in their lives will be impossible to fill. I'm sure they will be surrounded by family and friends to comfort them and help them get through this difficult moment in their lives. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

This is terrible. We all are here crying and morning about missing out on the playoffs and at any moment we can leave this earth. As a Mavs fan it was hard to like Kobe the player because he was so good and he and his team was gonna beat you that given night. But Kobe the man? Especially post NBA? Admirable. Him and his relationship with his daughter. My heart goes out to his family and especially his wife. To lose your husband and child....I just can’t even imagine.

My ex wife and 9 year old were killed in a plane crash 8 years ago, I still have not recovered I couldn't imagine losing an entire family....ugh
Can’t even imagine. My condolences........I use to be heartless....never really care about much until I had a child. The love and warmth I lacked I gained with the birth of a child. I can’t even imagine man......

Were all human and make mistakes, nobody is perfect. My heart goes out to his wife and children. Kobe and his daughter are in a better place now looking down on his family, their spirit will always be around watching over them.
