It's pretty simple people. MM is a true HC, so Jerry's going to allow him to operate as such. Garrett wore the HC dunce cap and Jerry couldn't trust him to be hands off.

That said I think MM might improve the team 1-2 wins a year over Garrett by just being Mike McCarthy. One thing I'm curious about though. Did McCarthy really want to keep K. Moore or was that a concession? Did Jerry make it a requirement or did McCarthy offer it to get the job? We'll probably never know for sure. To me it's significant. There's a hint of the old Wade Phillips/Jason Garrett scenario that I just can't dismiss.

A couple of neat writers reported that McCarthy had actually been following Moore last season and had planned to make a run at him if MM ended up somewhere other than Dallas and if the new Dallas coach fired Moore during his staff hiring

Assuming these writers had good information, I would say that’s a pretty solid indication that MM is a big KM fan.

Most of the hard core “Jerry Puppet” faction will likely dismiss this as it doesn’t fit the narrative
