I had cancer and had part of my nose removed...I DIDNT MAKE A BAD CHOICE AND THEN GOT CANCER LOL. Doing street drugs, or drugs in general...and alcohol is a choice... Luckily the nose is the 1 part of your body that continues to grow and basically regenerate as we age, especially in men. I WAS LUCKY. I had basal cell carcinoma and never smoked or used tobacco products in my life. SO I AM SPEAKING FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCE. Once a person has had cancer, you are never truly out of the woods so to speak. In fact, you have a higher rate of risk of it returning and usually is more aggressive. Addiction is an entire different animal.

Only the Dallas Cowboys can draft people like this and hang on to them over time without someone being held accountable. I wish I could say McCarty will clean house but it is a pipe dream. Super Jerruh runs the show and it is indeed a show.

Does anyone have information on the guy? Do you think he is in the plans for 2020?

I ask because this team is VERY thin on the DL. Having him will make a huge difference. That said, if he is not playing in 2020 they need to be done with him.
Yes he can't stay off the pot and seems to have some sort of mental disorder. Also he has little to no interest in playing football

My understanding is that he applied but hasn’t been reinstated yet. They never replied this season. And I understand. His last suspension is 1 year. Then indefinite so I will would figure it would be at least a year before they reinstate him. With the trouble he has had I am only assuming but am figuring we would have heard about it if he failed or missed another.
I think because of Josh Gordon, they are really going to look at re-instatement cases differently.

And they should. Not every situation is the same but the rules are the rules. They should be amended. But I think until pot is federally legal then it will continue to be illegal in the NFL.

I don't understand the infatuation with Reefer Randy. Its not like he's the missing link or something. Some act like he was suspended after having a 20 sack season.

you do realize Cowboys organization has same infatuation that you're suggesting ?
Its a reason why they still maintain his rights and want to continue to see this through. He has physical skill sets and athleticism that can disrupt and change the tone and complexion
of the game. Ala the Bucs 2018 game. (sack- forced fumble recovery turned Jaylon returned TD)

Assuming they know well upfront about his medical issues and know and see it differently as someone dependant upon using marijuana substance as an addiction to sustain mental stability ...vs a irresponsible party animal.

He has been medically diagnosed as bi-polar. That's a condition. And there is already a question of how the NFL handles the marijuana substance issue around the league anyway.
Gregory's mental condition and addiction situation becomes the poster-child for marijuana substance abuse and how the NFL should better look to handle this.

That being said, with his persistent suspensions since he's entered the NFL, that has crippled his career and clearly stunt his growth and development, the team simply cannot place
their future and need in Gregory's hands while he continues to stabilize his troubled life.

That's why its more the back seat and " luxury" position with Randy.
If he finally manages to stabilize his life and career, his role becomes a extra " luxury " rather than a dependent.
Like Quinn, Gregory is an explosive edge rusher, and they are just too hard to find.

But IMO, people love to hate, they love a villain. its' a feel strong with themselves, and maybe they don't want to hear anything else that will deter themselves
from hating vs trying to get a better understanding. - Just My Opinion.

I just can't see the team putting any trust on him. If he were to get reinstated and fails yet again it puts the Cowboys back into the situation of scrambling to find a replacement. He is a bonus as long as he is not taking up a roster spot but again how much faith do you put into him after missing more games than played due to suspension?

Getting Gregory back doesn't put us over the top. IMO

I've been on CowboyZone for not even a year now. And this is the fifth Gregory thread. I'm a firm believer in...don't worry about things you can't change or control. Gregory will be back when he comes back. I'm not saying he sucks or to hell with him. I'm just wondering how 20 Gregory threads speeds his return up?

I don't think it is sissy stuff, it is quite serious but having said that as a football team trying to get back to playing for a SB you don't turn your team into a halfway house for players. Dallas knew of the red flags and did it anyway and have brought other problem players in. Time to bring in football players who only goal is to win championship and if your not doing that then you are no use for this team. I feel for them as individual but when it comes to this team it is time to put this team 1st

I've been saying it for 2 years.

Gregory needs to forget about football and move to a state where weed is legal. There he can smoke as much as he wants to ease his inner demons for the rest of his days.

Given the lack of recent updates, maybe he has done this already.

As for the Cowboys, they can keep him on the suspended list as long as they want. Doesn't costs the team anything. But they need to act as if Gregory will never show his face at the Star again.
