They very well may schedule it that way, but I think it would be more dramatic to open against the Eagles. They were the best team in the division this past season.

Not sure how much they need to manufacture. Garrett steps into a good situation with a top RB and young QB. Giants seem to be letting him bring in some of his people like Columbo and possibly some others. I'm sure there is nothing more Garrett would like than to get his 1st win as OC for NY against the Cowboys.

Here's a couple of things that you either forgot or didn't know. The visiting team if it is from the NFC like the Cowboys, FOX normally would be covering the game so NBC wouldn't have any say in that. Second, the league determines what week teams play not the networks so the bengals very well may not be the week 1 opponent.

I'd like to see Dallas just get moved to another division altogether. I used to like the rivalries, but now i hate the other teams so bad i'd like to see them suffer by not getting to play Dallas twice/year. And they would suffer (fewer sellout stadiums, less national primetime appearances, etc.).
AND as was mentioned in several remarks earlier, this BS of having to go and play the NFC East rivals on the road in December the vast majority of the time is really getting old.

East has produced the most SB winner than any other division, including Eagles in 2017

I doubt it will be Thursday night because history has shown us that the opening game of the season is usually the Super Bowl champ or a repeat of either of the conference championship games. Where as if the 49ers win the Cowboys do play them this season but that opening game using the Super Bowl champ is usually against their biggest rival who would be either the rams or the sea hawks. Sometimes they go with the Super Bowl champs against the team that lost the other division championship game to see how that would have been for a Super Bowl. This is just my opinion.

Yep. No doubt East was not overly strong this past season, you could say that about every division at some point and time.
