I was just making fun of the issue ... sure we are waiting for the draft what else we have...let's hope it will be a good one

I was making fun as well.

The OP has us all the way through 2024 and we haven't really
even started on 2020 yet.

I’ve seen a ton of ridiculous threads, but this takes the cakes.. or muster the custard. The comments that immediately follow says it all.

We haven’t even seen one game coached by McCarthy this year, yet we have predictions for the next four years..smh.

How bout, give the man a chance.

McCarthy is going to make a difference but he is not a miracle worker or magician. At this point predicting 2020 or 2021 is impossible until we see who they sign to their roster. More than 60% of the Cowboys roster could turn over in the next two years. Tell me who is playing DT, CB, S in 2020. Who do they draft? Is Cooper here or gone? Until we know the answers to the questions about the roster how do we know what will happen?

If the Cowboys fail to sign Byron Jones or Anthony Brown, if they fail to sign a big time DT or two, or draft one, then 2020 is not going to be better than 2019 and could be a lot worse and it won't be McCarthy's fault.

Best we can do is make a prediction on 2020, and even then it would be without all the information needed because free agency and the draft are still to come. The affects of free agency and the draft will only grow beyond 2020, to the point the team may look very different in the latter part of the OP's time frame

This take sucks. You post nothing to back it up. It appears to be negative for the sake of negativity. Cmon man, I clicked on this thread expecting at least some food for thought. Why even waste message board space to post this crap?

No matter how good or bad McCarthy will be, Jerry will be looking over his shoulder.
2020: 8-8
2021: totally revamped personnel, 8-8
2022: Stephen wants results!
2023: breakthrough! 9-7!!!!!

And so it goes.
Jerry, please go away.

unfortunately now that we have a legitimate coaching staff, we are at a point where Jerry must revamp the roster. Especially after 2 or 3 poor drafts in a row. And he got fleeced by zeke on that horrible contract.

U mad, bro?
Your life is not what you want, though your bait stand was voted best in the tri-county area. So, sure take it out on me.
It's not about being mad, but why predict only average seasons for 4 years? We have a brand new coaching staff and Jerry is
giving unprecedented freedoms to our head coach! I would say that you predictions read more into someone that may actually
not being fond of their own life. I'm trying to be positive in terms of seeing some pretty good things going on with our team.

To suggest what you suggested is no matter how you slice it a NEGATIVE outlook, so yeah, I don't fancy your post and
I believe it's looking for negative in an otherwise positive situation. Sure we have earned the right to be cynical, but really?
Come one- @ignoramus alert..

Indeed I said the same thing.. The only possible reason I can see someone posting this gloomy of a outlook for our team with all the positive changes is in fact it's Jason Garrett himself.

True...…...but once we all get over the party on Garrett's coaching grave there are many many questions about this team, particularly on defense. Lots of FA's and some very important ones.

Then of course you have the obvious issue of a new scheme on both sides of the ball, and the new HC getting the right personnel on the squad to suit it. If we are going to be realistic.

To be direct, many of us are going to pinching ourselves at least until the season starts in regards to Garrett being gone. I think you will admit that was one of the worst nightmares a fan could ever experience having to deal with that guy as long as we did. I literally lost hope after a couple of years, but kept watching with my fingers crossed we would get lucky in-spite of him.

I think you have valid concerns about our personal, but take last off season for example, as things started shaping up the 2019 roster was one of the best on paper and look what that brought us? I think we've had to put all of our cards on talented players over the years with Garrett because of how bad he sucked, I personally believe that a good coaching staff will bring the best out of even subpar players. I don't think our roster is going to be the problem and I believe these coaches will have our players coached up in the new scheme quicker than you might think.

I agree with most of what you said. But here is our secondary next season:

Awuzie and Woods and that's it so far.

Dline: Tank, bunch of scrubs

By my count, we need 3 Dline starters, 2 secondary starters, a LB starter. That is 6 starters. No way you can fill all those holes properly in one offseason.

The TE position also needs to be completely revamped. We have one pass catching TE that cant block and we are a running football team. Need at least two quality TE's added to the roster.

LOTS of work to be done by this new coaching staff.

And thats assuming we sign both Dak and Cooper and LVE has a full recovery and his career continues on its course.

If there is one thing I have faith in, it's the ability of McCarthy to find the right players for his system and I also believe that Jerry will do everything he can to accommodate.
I believe that we will draft plenty of guys in late rounds that are ballers as opposed to Marinelli guys this time around.. I have faith!

I personally believe most of the roster is going to be shaken up with the exception of skill players. I think they find a way to keep Quinn but the dline will be very very different. In terms of the tight end, I think Jarwin is good and get catch the ball, they just need another guy that can block and catch decent.

Im on board with most of that.

TE: Most of these teams that run the ball well and like to run the ball like Ravens and Niners have 3 quality TE's. At least two can block well and sometimes all 3.

For a team that paid Zeke 15 million and is committed to running the football, TE's that can block is a must. I really don't see what Jarwin is good for other than going out and catching passes. He is really a WR. I think he is fine for that but you have to go out and get 2 other quality blocking TE's.

They also need a good FB that can knock out the LBer in the hole. Then we have a dominant run game again. Something we haven't had since 2016. I don't think any of those things is going to require big money. 2 blocking TE's and a FB probably wouldn't cost more than 5-6 million total.

I think you spend the big money in FA on the Dline and possibly safety.
First round pick I look to BA on defense with an eye on corner.

On offense, I actually let Cobb walk and look for a younger Cobb with speed to stretch the defense.

Look, mates, father time is not on our side.
It McCarthy doesn make a move within 2 years, the O line has had its finer days and our D gets weaker as a new INEXPERIENCED draft class comes in.

Robo, your mum sent me roses and says to be kinder to you. I have to go, she wants Popeyes chicken and biscuits....
