I am a Romo critic, actually I just don’t think he was one of the top quarterbacks of his era. But his escape ability was top level. I think that is what Sherman is talking about. Will never forget the play against the Rams. Wow.....

Mahomes has some Romo in him? What would that be?

Can't be INTs because Mahomes limits throwing INTs, while Romo used to throw lots of them. Seems more like a Dak comparison in that aspect.

Maybe the comparison is towards being a gunslinger which Romo was even though Dak proved this year he could sling it just as much as Romo and would have broken Romo's single season passing franchise record if he hadn't been intentionally held back throughout the 4th quarter of the Week 17 game this season against the Commanders.

Maybe it was the scrambling in the pocket comparison to Romo even though Mahomes is not as good a scrambler in the pocket as he is a much better runner the way Dak is?

Sounds like Mahomes has more qualities in comparison to Dak than he has with Romo.

Warning! Warning! Warning! Possible Romo compliment! Possible Romo compliment! Must respond by dragging Dak into conversation which has nothing to do with him in order to trash a long retired QB! Warning! Warning!

He’s simply the best in the NFL at this time.

Chiefs will be a serious contender for the next decade with him.

Poor America’s Clownboy, I don’t think he’s gonna make it through the day. Enjoying your pathetic mewling about a long retired player getting a harmless compliment.
Yea, his Romo bashing is a driving factor in his slobbering over Dak.

I wonder what attributes he’s referring to in regards to Romo. Good to see Romo getting some praise post NFL career.
Yea, wondered that too, but there are some similarities, actually. The creativity to make plays down the field while moving in or escaping the pocket, and taking chances down the field are definitely Romo-ish qualities.

Mahomes is a lot more Romo than he is Peyton, Brady or Brees.

Yep.. He's a perfect QB.

To me he is Rodgers with Randall Cunninghams mobility.
Mahomes is mobile, but he doesn't have anything like Randall Cunningham mobility. Cunningham was a 4.4 guy and Mahomes is a 4.8 guy, and Cunningham was as elusive as they come. That said, Mahomes is a better QB than Cunningham was.

I sense he's taking a mild jab at Romo and Mahomes.

Rodgers and Russell have rings. Romo's reputation, albeit an exaggerated one, is he'd take chances - sometimes they looked great, other times...

No, that's not it. He's talking about the ability to make plays out of nothing and keeping his eyes downfield. Mahomes doesn't look to run, just like Romo didn't when he was young. He's looking to buy time to make plays, and he's really elusive in the pocket like Romo.

Mahomes has a Rodgers-like arm. He throws with such ease.

He has Wilson-like presence and ability to run.

He has Romo's ability to feel pressure with his eyes still downfield, escape it, find his feet, and deliver the ball on target again and again from different arm angles.

What about the play against JJ Watt, the Broncos, the Falcons, the Giants, the Eagles, the Commanders, the Packers, the Saints.......not to mention the punctured lung game.

Give him Troy's teams, and Romo has at least three Super Bowls. He was the victim of Hillbilly Jerry.
