Should we remain with Jarwin or get a new featured TE

Past tight end players seemed to be well utilized and work terrific under McCarthy in GB, such as Jared Cook, Jimmy Graham. So that tells that the TE will indeed play a big significant in this offense.

And very strongly assuming this is the end of the road for the GOAT Jason Witten and we can finally get that speed and big play ability that affects the entire field, is there anyone that are sold on holdover TE Blake Jarwin as the starting featured TE here ?

Or should we strongly consider that new featured TE in this upcoming draft ?
Not sure if there's anyone that is worth investing in FA market at the TE position.

We have so many holes you have to keep Jarwin
If an opportunity arises we can draft on at some point but we have huge holes on Dline and secondary that have to be addressed
We could look FA if the right kind of deal became availible

Here's an in depth look at this year's 2020 veteran TE class in Free Agency.

-it doesn't look that appealing and promising - aside from ATL's Austin Hooper, imo.
-Hunter Henry is brittle. Cant and hasn't stay healthy since he's entered NFL.
-what happened to Eric Ebron that he totally seemed to fall off the map this past year ?
-and Jared Cook is now one of those old timers that Stephen does not believe in pursuing and investing in.

Ebron's QB retired in late August! He could be good here and that falloff the map could keep the cost down. Ebron, Jarwin and Schultz? I'd take that.

An inline TE would be nice. Dont know if Jarwin can fit that role. He would have to improve alot as a blocker. But unless you draft a day 1 star, Jarwin will still get most of the looks in tha passing game.

Im not 100% convinced that inline TE cant be Shultz. He didnt get much opportunity when Witten came back. However he looked decent in that role during his rookie season when Swaim went down

I would think they’d look at a prove it deal for a depth guy but could draft a guy
Don’t expect them to use a top 3 pick on one with all the other needs we have

You can get younger and better at the position, frankly we wasted Jarwin by not using him more and while he is decent he isn’t great.

DT/CB is priority #1. Next safety.

If the team is paying Cooper, and as many holes that need to be filled on defense over the next two years..I just can't see why they could justify spending draft capital on a TE. Plug and play through FA until the defense is slightly restocked, or we come across a few more draft(comp) picks.
