Giants are one playmaker away and a lineman away from being a solid team. Commanders.....they can actually make the biggest jump if they can get Guice healthy. They will run you to death and play defense. A good recipe.
Except they didn't really play good defense. Ranked 27th and gave up 27 ppg.

They finished 25th in pass rush win rate. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...s-rushing-rankings-2019-pbwr-prwr-leaderboard

That DL is wildly overrated.
Well they had a dip last year with inconsistent play from Sweat and an all-around giving up of the team by week 3. 2017 and 2018 they fared much better.

2017 they were 2nd in pressures as well as Preston Smith being second in pass rush win rate.

2018 Kerrigan was second in pass rush win rate and they were 5th in sack rate.

I wouldn’t go DE at 2 if I was them. I trade down get 3 first round picks and get multiple blue chip players.

That defensive line is about to be scary good.
Yeah, it’ll still be an over-allocation of resources. Imagine when it comes time to pay 2 first round DE’s and 2 first round DT’s lol

You don’t think they will hand the ball of to Guice and Ap? You think Ron Rivera is going to throw it 40 times a game and not rely on his defense?
not at all what I said. He's their QB, he will be holding them back whenever they decide to pass.

Probably gonna be like paying 3 first round offensive linemen and La El Collins lol.
Due to the scarcity of quality lineman I’ve always valued an O line over anything. Also, you’re paying top 5 money to guys who either play the same position and/or are in a rotation. The o-line plays every snap and is always on the field together.

You mean like Tannenhill held the Titans back?
he was their backup lol

Skins reached for a guy with little experience, I completely expect Haskins to hold them back.

Well the division cant get any worse, so I tend to agree on that alone.

They don’t need to be a great defense. My prediction on them being better is mostly about that offense. I really like what they got from Slayton last year. Still have Golden Tate and Shepherd. Evan Engram. Saqoun....add a first round picking whether it’s a lineman or a skill position? They have the personnel to do whatever they want. It’s gonna come down to coaching and who knows there.
Yeah I guess some thought I was saying the nfce would have 4 SB teams lol.
What I see is 3 new HC's, 2 are proven and experienced, mike won a SB, rivera lost a SB then judge is the young guy eager to prove himself.
They all will be better this coming season.

Also the skins, and giants will pick ahead of dallas, and fairly high. So they could get a few good players in the draft.
I dont see them doing a lot in FA , but they might. At least in 1 position or 2.
Rivera is a def coach, and wash has some talent there.

Couple of questions for you.
1. What makes you think that a WR coach from last year will be a good head coach? What has he done to show you that?
2. How does D. Jones suit Garrett's style better than Romo or Dak?
3. You really think that McCarthy will try to dominate the east? Way to go out on a limb there.

I think Was and NYG will be improved, but not by much. They have too many holes on both sides of the ball to make a big leap in one year. Philly has to do something about WR or they will be looking at another 8-8, 9-7 type season.
1.Just a hunch, after they talked to him, they just stopped interviews and hired him. I think he will be better than the last 2 coaches they had.
2.Jones is a pure passer, and big arm, can throw deep mid range passes with velocity. and he is a pocket passer. That suits what JG likes to do.
3.He dominated GB's division the whole time he was there, he should know that winning div games is key to good record and winning div.
I think he will put a emphasis on that and home games. Any coach wants to dominate their div, but that is where a good coach will put more emphasis
on those 2 things.
with JG it was just 1 game at a time, and from a psychological standpoint that doesnt emphasize anything.

that is true, the east was really bad in 19.
but I think with the new HC's, garrett oc in NY, and the teams all being better, it should make for an exciting season, instead of the crap we had the
last few years.
I knew gruden would fail with skins after his first season, and they were just a boring team.
NYG have not been interesting since coughlin was let go.
Dallas has been boring and disappointing with JG.
I just think all that is going to change.

I think the entire NFCE improved.....it remains to be seen just how much.
Hard to witness the decline of the NFC East - our division holds the highest number of league Championship appearances and wins since 1967, the year the AFL champion started playing the NFL champion.
Of course, the AFC East is close.
Division W-L=T
  1. NFC EAST 13-9=22
  2. AFC EAST 9-12=21
  3. AFC WEST 7-8=15
  4. NFC WEST 7-7=14
  5. AFC NORTH 8-4=12
  6. NFC NORTH 5-6=11
  7. NFC SOUTH 2-4=6
  8. AFC SOUTH 2-3=5

A solid *offense. They literally need players at every level of the defense and I’m not convinced Daniel Jones is a good QB. Defensively the Giants have miles to go.

Skins might need 3 new o lineman, they need another WR, they need a TE, Guice can’t stay healthy, and Haskins is still undecided. They have a good d line and they play hard at times, that’s about all they have man.

Both these teams are a few offseasons away from being winning teams. Will they be a cakewalk? No division game is. But they will not be significantly better than last year.

I think Jones will be better than you guys think. He was highly coveted. Just because you haven’t heard much about him doesnt mean that he won’t be a good player.

Yeah they don’t see it now but they will. I still think we should win our division but make no mistake it’s gonna be tougher than in past years. I’m kind of excited about that.

We may not even beat the Giants next year. We will be either 2nd or 3rd in the division
