Bottom line: if Dak was a marquee quarterback, the Cowboys would have been in the playoffs this year.
Put just about any other quarterback behind the Cowboys offensive line of 2016 and he would have succeeded.
Since then Dak has played okay, but has not distinguished himself as a top quarterback.

Laughing at all these folks saying Dak should be paid more than Goff and Wentz. Both QB’s have been/lead their team to the SB (yes, I know Wentz was hurt, however, he led his team to the playoffs at the very least and set them up for a SB run). Dak hasn’t even touched the SB or NFC Championship. He shouldn’t be paid more than either. He should be paid as much as them, or less until he proves more. Wentz outplayed him this year. Sure his stats aren’t as good, but he played well enough with the terrible pieces he had around him. Dak struggled with good pieces around him. I’ll give him the fact that he played well the beginning of the season, but right around the Pats game, he fell of a cliff. HARD. Inconsistency and Inaccuracy hardly count for a high pay day IMO. Since rumors are spiraling of him holding out, they need to draft a QB. I wouldn’t want a keep a QB that dares to hold out anyways. It’s a privilege to have the talent to play in the NFL. Take the chance or leave it.

I'll be starting a new thread very soon with facts to silence all of you Dak haters.

Dak jas been better than both, hands down. But I still wouldn't pay him over 35 mil per...NO WAY. It will wreck the team eventually. Tagging him may be even worse due to the immediate cap hit. That's a guaranteed amount he has to be paid if we do that. If we do tag him, Its likely a temporary thing so we can negotiate or trade him on draft day to say, CINCY...JUST spitballin. Maybe MM wants his own young QB??? Food for thought.

Why should Dak get more than Wentz or Goff?
Wentz outplayed Dak this year, leading a team that was barely standing to the NFC East title.
Goff has been to a Super Bowl already.
Dak isn't in their league- let alone a higher one.
Dak is yet to prove he can win and make the Cowboys a better team because of him.
From what I've seen, any other quarterback could have done as well as Dak with the Cowboys talent.
Just 4 years ago Goff learned the sun rises in the East. True story.

Mahomes is so great, he passed for a measly 61% completions percentage for 286 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs, got sacked 4 times and ended up with a paltry 78 passer rating. Whoopee!!!

Does that sound like he deserves $40+ million per year?

The crazy scary thing is that in his worst statistical game ever he won a Super Bowl while still scoring over 30 pts...

Right on cue. An eagles fan shows up.

And we’re the immature ones? Funny. I did not insult anyone or anything, yet the first thing you do is resort to insults. I’m an Eagles fan because I don’t agree with the OPINION that Dak is better than Goff or Wentz? How does this work exactly? Actually, don’t answer that. I’m not arguing with anyone over Dak tonight. I’m expressing my opinion. Rather you agree with it or not is on you.

However, calling someone an Eagles fan or Troll over the simple fact of opinion is ridiculous. Now stating that Dak is the worst QB in the league or Dak should be paid 25 mil is ridiculous and troll worthy, but what I say or if someone say’s Dak is not worth 33-35 mil doesn’t make that person a troll. Good day.

I am sure the next mahomes will be available at 17.
Always an excuse for Andy Dalton of the star. If people thought Mahommes would've been this good he would've went number 1. That's to say QB better than Andy Dalton of the star aka Dak could be there at 17 or shocker maybe we can move up. Doesn't guarantee that player will be better than Dak but he isn't good enough as a QB to not find out if you have a chance even though I know some will bring the fugazy numbers and team wins as a QB stat junk to the table. I say save it and truly watch the games.

Wentz has yet to win a playoff game. Dak's career is unquestionably better. Wentz doesn't get credit for Foles winning the Super Bowl.

The chiefs offense is loaded to the gills with talent and they have one of the best offensive coaches of the last two decades leading them.

Dak

Well, just maybe all of those come from behind wins against playoff teams had something to do with it?
That's funny.

When Dak's good come from behind wins are brought up, the response is typically something like "if he didn't suck the first 3 quarters, he would have not needed to come back in the first place".

But QB X from some team other than the Cowboys? GREATEST QB ever, the guy just knows how to win. If the Cowboys had that guy, we would be 18x Super Bowl Champions.

I would venture to say that the hypocrisy AGAINST Dallas Cowboys QBs (Dak and Romo) from so-called "Dallas Cowboys Fans" is probably the biggest reason why some posters try to defend them so much.

Like usual, the truth is somewhere in between. If Mahomes did not play like crap the first 3+ quarters, this should have been a blowout. But you also got to give him credit, he put on his big boy pants at the end and actually made the throws he needed to make.

Mahomes may have won SB MVP, but IMO that should go to Kyle Shanahan for another terrific choke job with a good lead late in a SB. That guy apparently does not know what it takes to protect a lead in the big game.

Again, nothing against Mahomes. He made the throws at the end, and he deserves whatever money he is about to get.

If Dak was a marquee quarterback he would've already got paid like the other qb's in his draft class. Isn't he like the only one of note not paid yet?
