I don't dislike Dak, but anyone who thinks giving him a huge contract is going to get the Cowboys on that SB trophy stage is kidding themselves.

Tag Dak with the non-exclusive tag. He's not shown that he's worth top money yet.

Exactly and if another team scoops him up id gladly take 2 first rounders for him. Paying this QB 40 million a year is franchise suicide.

Overpaying Dak is not in the team’s best interest. It will ruin the team for the next 10 years and they will be bad years when the team can’t afford to pay the talent that Dak requires around him to play at a decent level.
Actually, overpaying Zeke has already began to ruin this team.

Yes. I would like to see Dak signed. But not at any cost. He's worth about 30. Maybe a little bit more. But no more.

Overpaying players is never in a team's best interest. How many times have we said that?
$25-$32 million, sign me up. Anything above that, I'll take my chances elsewhere.

I believe 30-32 is fair. They may be haggling on the years and guaranteed money. I hear they're now seriously considering franchising him and I sense he may holdout if they do so.... Jesus... Can this team ever start our in front of the 8 ball?

This front office screwed up when they emptied the bank on Zeke...................

Once he is paid we’ll pretty much be out of the Super Bowl hunt until that contract is over.

Hoping our coach is the 1st coach to win a Super Bowl with a different team plus paying a mediocre QB like he is elite will be too difficult to overcome.

Our drafting has to be incredible for us to even have a shot. We need someone who can make a huge impact.

Yup.....Not only that...I don't think he's that smart to begin with. He's more interested in being in the spotlight...making commercials...than getting better at his craft. Dude has hit his ceiling. Kellen did the best he could with this guy....the stats show he's capable of yards....but look @ all the missed opportunities. Some people will call them drops. I say if the QB put the ball where it was supposed to be on the first place....this wouldn't have been a problem. Now he wants top 5 money even though he hasn't won a damn thing...please....time to find a guy that has his head in reality.

There is rumors that Brees, Brady, Rivers, Winston, Mariotta, Carr, and who knows else could all be available but instead we’re going to pay a mediocre QB like he is a top 3 guy in football.

Goodbye Super Bowl.

I have no problem offering Brees a contract.
Go ahead and tag Dak by March 10th for insurance, but keep the door open when FA starts on March 18th.
If Brees wants to sign with Dallas for example, then friggin' sign him and just rescind the tag on Dak.
Not only will be getting an upgrade at QB, but will pretty much kill the Saints playoff hopes in the process.
A SB winning HC to go along with a SB winning QB...I like it!

That's quite unfair Floaty. Dak's current contract is around $ 2 mil per year and he has never even griped about it. I certainly don't begrudge him making commercials. Plenty of quarterbacks make commercials as well. No one even really knows how Dak's most current contract offer is structured. If you have a copy of it, please share it. Personally, I think around $ 30 million is more than appropriate. I don't blame the Cowboys for franchise tagging him if they can't work things out with him and his agent.

No, they actually looked good on the field as well.

Dak has proven you turds wrong since the moment he stepped on the field.

THIS year was the most embarrassing as he lead the NFL in passing.
8-8....first it's all about wins, not the stats...now its about stats, not wins. Always an excuse for Dak.

I've seen super bowls won with average QBs and exceptional defenses. I've also seen super bowls won with exceptional QB play.

Our defense needs help, which we won't get paying Dak 35+ a year. Dak is not Roger's, Wilson, Brees or Mahones that can carry the team.

We're going to a west coast offense, quick reads and accurate throws leading and throwing receivers open. Rush may be better suited for this offense at 1/30th the price.

Agreed. Pay him and move on from this stupidity. Aikman said it multiple times last season and I agree with him that not getting a contract has to have impacted his play. I don’t think Dak took enough chances scrambling last season and always thought he was probably afraid of the major injury. In any case, get this deal done already and focus on Amari.

Actually, overpaying Zeke has already began to ruin this team.

In terms of players missing out on TC time to get a deal? Sure. But it's unfortunately not uncommon around the league.

Zeke's 5th year option would of been at ~9.1mil this year. His revised cap hit now is 10.9mil.

Not sure how Zeke's extension has already begun to ruin this team unless you are thinking about 2-3 years into the future.

If that's Daks play, I'm okay with it...As long as we get a 1st...
can't trade if he isn't signed. Lets say then we get a bottom 1st round pick what makes you think jerry won't use it on a guy he loves in paxton lynch 2.0.
