Witten had the right as well..

What I don’t like is how they said Witten would be used.

With Zeke’s lack of explosion and Witten having 0 explosion we really cut down on big plays with Amari out.

Jarwin was a big play TE and he was on the sideline wayyy too often.
I don’t disagree that Witten was used in a more prominent role than he should have been. I just don’t think that relates to Dez

This absolutely needs to be 100% McCarty's decision. Dez does not need to be shoved down McCarty's throat the way TO was shoved down Parcels throat. You cannot start an owner/coach relationship that way if you expect this team to succeed...

Josh gordon was brought back. It failed.
Antonio brown was brought back. Failed.
Dez's career was derailed by injuries. He was also a distraction in the locker room. No way Stephen brings him back.
I don't think it's a fair and accurate comparison between Dez and Gordon/Brown. Dez didn't have a drug problem and Dez is no where near the psychopath that Brown is. Those guys failed cuz of problems from the neck up. Dez had problems from the neck down. Injuries and age caught up to him and Romo made him better. But I feel if he's in shape why not bring him in for cheap to see what he has. At least for training camp. We do need to emotional leaders on this team. Guys that don't want to lose. I laughed when I read that S
DLaw is encouraging signing Dez. If DLaw had half of Dez's desire and love for football then DLaw would be a monster.

Bryant has something to prove.
I say gice him the chance. Line him up at TE or in red zone teams would freak out.
I think you would still need a Speedy WR to really really make coverage get messed up and open the run even more. No LB is going to hold Dez. Js.

Well I’d ask you to list 10 guys but we both know how stupid that would be.

The guy has more TDs then anyone in our franchise and even Michael Irvin has said Dez had more ability then he did.

Dez had talent and production. He’s one of our greats.
Irvin
Pearson
Clarke
TO
Hayes

Tony Hill
Lance Rentzel
Michael Gallup
Amari Cooper
Joey Galloway

Only stupid if you're blinded by player love!!!!!!

I didn't even know this, but it doesn't surprise me.

Hope they assigned him a money manager. If not, I'm sure he's about broke.

Erod pulls **** from his *** and hopes folks on the forum latch on.

90 percent of what he says is false. He tries to act like he has some insiders in the cowboys and it tends to fool some folks on this board.

Bringing Dez Bryant Back Isn't a Good Idea ?

February 1, 2020 - Dez Bryant wants to make a comeback. The former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver has made that clear over the last few months on social media. Since he left

Even re-signing 30-year old Randall Cobb is a way better idea.

This. I was skeptical on Cobb but he was great in the back half of the season.

Dez is a tricky one. I think he could have a lot of upside if he's actually gotten his body right and will come very cheap. If he were from another team, and I thought we needed a free agent WR, I'd be all over it.

But the precedent of Witten is a bad one, while Witten on paper was a better situation for us. He was treated like a go to guy even when he wasn't one. it cost us at times. That's the cost. But we really did need another TE. That's the fit.

Dez has the cost of likely too much respect, without the fit of need.

I like out WRs, and don't think we need another. It was a crime that Devin Smith didn't get more playtime last year. Given the competition, I wouldn't want to sign a guy who we weren't willing to cut, and I don't see us cutting Dez if we pick him up. Similarly, much like the case of Witten, we might use him as more of a go to player than he is because of his history here.

But Dez did say TE. That's a little more interesting. We have a need there. Witten should be gone, and Schultz sucks. Maybe Dez has put on a little weight and can be a Noah Brown who can catch. And we could use a punt returner, with Austin likely leaving.

No, he's right on this.
Search "David Wells".

Dez had a three-man rotation security team.
One was with him at all times and drove him to practices, games and
team functions.
He had a midnight curfew and wasn't allowed to drink alcohol.
He was also required to attend counseling sessions twice a week.

No way, He burned bridges when he left and hasn’t earned anything as far as the Cowboys are concerned. You can say well they brought back Witten but Witten didn’t act like a big dummy when he left.

I think he only wants to play for Dallas.

He was trying to use the Ravens offer to get Dallas to reconsider his release.

The Saints contract was becuz he needed money by that time.

Alot of water under the bridge now.

We need to think about what is best for the team here.

With Witten gone, an accomplished possession receiver position is open.

Dez?

Come home baby. We can use your help.

Just wait until we lineup 4 wide with Cooper, Dez, Cobb, Gallop, add a TE in Schultz or Witten and send out Zeke or Pollard out of the backfield.

OMG.
no, he knows his only opportunity to play again is in Dallas now.... no team, no WR needy team was willing to sign him last year until they got really really desparate...now, injured nobody bit. nobody really wanted him. and he knows his only chance would be in dallas for sentimental reasons and his relationship with Jones....and I hope Jones just doesn't push him on coaching staff. don't even push a try out on coaching staff, because that's the beginning of the end. let them decide which players to try out.

None of that means he has “earned” a tryout.

Being young enough to play doesn’t mean he still has the ability, nor does it mean the team should ignore any personality, cost or any other factor it deems relevant.

As for Witten, if you don’t think he earned a chance, how is it Dez has? Besides, we had no real experience at TE going into last season without Witten, but at WR if we re-sign Cooper and Cobb to go with Gallup, there just isn’t the same lack of experience at that position.

As for what the majority of the fan base would think, I’m not at all convinced the majority would be that in favor of Dez being back, but even so, I don’t see why that would matter. The team will neither add or subtract from the fan base in even a remotely meaningful way whether Dez is back with Dallas or not.
This just goes round and round.

Dez has to hold an open practice session..

Invite the teams to send a scout and do like Kapernick did and see what happens.

These little peak-a-boo video posts mean nothing. Other than hiding a problem possibly.

I would like him back if he can run, cut and jump as needed.

He has to do first.

Each day that goes by without this fades a return.

Hmmmm....

Running, cutting and jumping are part of it, but there is also cost, and what his role might be, and his acceptance of that role, and personality and locker room considerations etc …
