Could Rivers be McCarthy's Garcia or Gannon?

We need to see how the QB chips fall first because Rivers would be down on my list.

I think Derek Carr in our offense would be really good and at worst he would be Dak out there.

Rivers at the right price would be better then Dak but my gosh is he a statue at this point.

Who knows what could happen with Brady, Brees, Cam, and how many other pieces start falling after that.

This offseason could be incredible to see where QB's end up.
I like Derek Carr in this offense. You are right about Rivers he just can't move, reminds me of Bledsoe.

Dak went 13-3 without Amari. He also went 9-7 without Amari. He also went 8-8 with Amari. No single WR "makes" a QB, none. That's not how the NFL works. Amari is too inconsistent with his head in the clouds to "make" any QB.

This is coming from someone who thinks Dak is the poster child for mediocrity.

Zeke was an explosive player then.

Look how we did when Zeke got suspended... Since last year Zeke has not been all that.. He's still good but he is nothing like the 2016 Zeke.

Dak and Zeke got us off to a whopping 3-5 start in 2018 and in 2019 Zeke and Dak got us to 8-8.

Now that Zeke isn't explosive we rely on Amari a lot and if he isn't on we are not doing well.

We go as Amari goes since he got here.

Zeke hasn't been an explosive player since 2016. Again, even without Amari, there was a literal 1 game difference from 2017 to 2018 and we had a WORSE record with him in 2019. Amari didn't do crap. It had nothing to do with injury either, he just doesn't travel well.

What people ignore is the fact that our offensive line gelled more as the season went on in 2018 with the running lane for sure. And Cooper sucked down the stretch in 2018 anyways, one game we were shut out for the first time since Carter was our starter. Propping up Amari is lame and I've called you out on this multiple times. Cooper had terrible hands and ghosted in Oakland and has done it here as well. WRs like this don't "make" QBs. The same way Johnson and Jones don't make Stafford and Ryan, and both of those WRs are infinitely better than Cooper will ever be. It's a silly talking point and it needs to be dropped immediately.

When Catch gets an idea in his head, there is absolutely no way you're going to change it.

Derek Carr has consistently been rated nearly the same as Dak. Virtually the same QB with inflated stats.

The way the Dak supporters speak of Dak on this board is the same way Raiders fans speak of Carr. Everyone outside of the fan bases know they are mediocre, but the fans think there is some hidden elite QB talent in both.

Which means you really dont know jack. Derek Carr as a QB is a horrible leader. He would fold under pressure trying to play for the Cowboys.

lol.. Which means you're a homer because you're ignoring the QB who folded under pressure this year.

All that great leadership did nothing. We need players who make plays on Sundays. Not some do nothing mediocre QB.

How are we going to lose the division with a relatively healthy roster and not even score a TD against a whimpering Eagles team?

Some of you act like im wanting to replace Tom Brady with Derek Carr lol.

Dak is a top 15 QB. Carr around that same range. Difference is Carr is known to be soft mentally as a leader and Dak has been the complete opposite. I'd take Dak over him anyday. Phillip Rivers is done.

Dude already has a fan base that doesn't like him. Player under no new contract. Team didnt accomplish what we wanted them to but individual stats Dak didn't fold. He went out and threw for almost 5k and had 30 tubs. Doesn't sound like folding to me. Oh yeah Dak has also won a playoff game. What about Carr? Talking about Dak didnt perform. Yall be saying anything.

The word is the Chargers are hot for Herbert and letting Rivers walk and while I admit I didn't watch him play in 2019 as much as I have in the past, he is still one of the most accurate passers and is that guy that can make every throw. He does throw more picks because he does have a little gunslinger in him but he's also 6'5" with a cannon.

I don't know what Big Mike thinks of him but with this offense around him but I think they could get him on a shorter term deal than Prescott. Garcia and Gannon both became better QB's with a change in coaching and were allowed to use their skills.

He is 38 and I don't know how much he would cost but it is an option if Prescott is too set on his contract demands.

I guess the question comes down to which QB you think is the better one but with these weapons around Rivers, it intrigues me to think of him as the DC QB for 2-3 seasons. He's all about getting the ball out and into a playmaker's hands.

The other QB FA's, Brady, Brees, Bridgewater, Keenum, Tannehill don't do a lot for me but Rivers is that guy that has seldom had a really good team around him and he had to carry it too often. I also don't think Brady or Brees hits the bricks and I don't see Bridgewater as an upgrade over Prescott but he might be more affordable.
Cant stand Philip Rivers. He is one that I would much prefer Dak over - he is done!

Dak's yards mean squat. Empty calories against bad teams.

The top 5 QB's in passing this year didn't make the playoffs. It doesn't matter.

Win some games and go to the playoffs and do something.. How about that.. Im glad he's good enough to pad his numbers on the Giants, Commanders, Dolphins, Lions, ect..

Dak for Carr is almost a push and when you factor in contracts give me the cheaper guy.

Who would we be trying to land in 2021 by tanking like this?

Just so I'm in the loop on the full plan.

Empty calories. Man you cant even form your own opinion you saying the same thing Shannon Sharpe said on FS1. I'm sorry I just not about to debate with people that parrot a media narrative. If that's the best you can do then I'm just gonna agree to disagree

Carr is probably slightly undervalued. But I think he will get a good contract on the open market. I believe Dak is a better QB than Carr. But quantifying how much better is hard to put a finger on.

I could be wrong but I personally think Rivers is “done”.

Oh i've formed my own opinion but calling it empty calories is pretty good.

Maybe i'll just steal from you next and call it folding under pressure.

I really don't care about rumors of what he is "mentally" - both Dak and Carr end up with similar results, so you're overrating it. Simple fact is, both Carr and Dak are mediocre at best and would be a side step if we went with Carr and the only positive is if he would come cheaper.
