Garoppolo won't (and shouldn't) be moved, but just noting that his dead cap number drops to $4 million this offseason, then $2.8 million next offseason. Which leaves the door open for them to draft someone.

Threw for 4000 yards 69.1% and 8.4 YPA, and a 102 rating for the season, guys a stud at QB and he will be back in the SB
Yeap Jimmy showed he is a below average QB. Even the likes of Fitzpatrick, career backups would have won with that team.
The coach had no faith in him in the first half. The Niners offense is all gimmicky nonsense reverses, we pitches. It just angers me me that coaching is what got the Niners to a SB..

It did. When Jimmy G has time he’s pretty good, but get pressure anywhere around him and he closes his eyes and chucks it. Mahomes looks to make plays. Jimmy G prays he doesn’t get killed.
Handsome Jimmy played terribly!!

When you run the ball 42 times for 285 yards what does a QB need to do? Especially when the defense is playing well. The fact a quarterback isn't needed doesn't translate into him not being any good. He didn't look too bad in the game against the Saints. When they needed him to pass.
He is not good. He got a gigantic contract based on 3 starts. Not justifying Dak, but if you were Dak you would want to be paid. Period, full stop.
I don’t like paying QB’s like Wendy’s, Goff, Jimmy, Foles, Dak.Alex Smith.,etc
I only want to break the bank for a superstar...
I really wish there was a 22-24 million dollar slot but there isn’t.

He is very pedestrian, IMO.
They did not make it to the Super Bowl because of Jimmy G. He was along for the ride.

And he certainly didn’t do them any favors DURING the Super Bowl.

He’s not putting that team on his shoulders and winning championships.

He's a proven winner. What else is there? Not in the same class as Brady, Rodgers or Brees in their prime, but the dude can ball.

Yes coaching makes a difference but Dak still couldnt do what Jimmy G has done. Dak is a streaky QB who goes cold for long periods of time and thats not good. Just because Jimmy only throws 8 passes doesnt mean he cant step up and win games with his arm. He is the perfect fit for that running team. Dak is too inconsistent to be asked to hand the ball off a lot and then complete a pass for a 3rd down. Dak needs 2 throws to have a better chance at completing one for a first down.
And what did Jimmy G do? Rode the 2nd ranked D to the super bowl. You're right, Dak hasn't been able to do that!!!!

Lynch built the team like his old bucs team, heavy run and dominate defense with a bus driver QB. They have all the pieces but could use an upgrade at QB. Rivers probably wins last night.

You don't need a great QB to win a Super Bowl but you need a QB who can play great when it matters. Eli, Flacco, and Foles all had big moments during their run. We didn't really see that from Garoppolo (in fairness to him though, he wasn't really needed to do much in their two playoff wins to get there). He had his chance last night but just didn't have it.

He doesn't have a ton of experience though...just like Goff last year. Give a defense 2 weeks to prepare with an entire season of film and they can exploit an inexperienced QB. Even Mahomes, who has about the same amount of experience, did not look as great as he could be.

What a strange thing to say especially right after yesterday’s performance.

He had the perfect opportunity to “ball out” and “be a winner” and he came up short, multiple times actually.

Mahomes struggled at times yesterday as well. Garoppolo is a good QB, he was beaten by a better team yesterday. Nothing to be ashamed of with the year they had and likelihood to be in the mix next year.

Stats can be misleading. His numbers weren’t as great against the better teams.

We averaged about 35 points a game in our wins and 15 points a game in our losses.

And we never overcame a 7 point or more deficit.

Much of that yardage was in an attempt to come back since we were behind and running game was stifled as teams focused on stopping Zeke and test if Dak could beat them.

They were actually horrible against the good teams........and if you subtract out the numbers he put up against prevent defenses, its even uglier.

Gee! Dak had 0 tds vs the Saints and yet the defense held the Saints to 13 points. Jimmy G hung 350yds and 4 tds against a Saints team with Brees who shredded that 49er defense. Get off Daks left nut and wake up.

It's OK to be clueless. Throwing insults makes it appear that you've lost the argument and have given up. Don't blame you, you're not doing too well.

That isn't even close to being a stud. 4000 yards in today's NFL means little. Dak almost had 5,000. He had a high completion % being he never threw to the outside where you have to be precise and accurate. He was Checkdown Charlie. Underneath safe routes. Everything was safe throws in the middle of the field. Did it work for them? Sure until last night. But that does not make him a stud QB. He's an average QB and that's it. Half the time he closes his eyes and chucks it. Like Eli Manning did.

He's being paid huge money yet their offense is designed to hide his lack of ability and they never ask him or trust him to make any plays or win them the game on his shoulders. Last night when Shannahan did not call a timeout before the end of the 1st half, I truly believe he did not believe in Jimmy G at all and would rather get out of the half tied at 10 than give him the ball and ask him to drive the team. Knowing it could end in disaster or a quick 3 and out and right back to KC.

Why did they pay him big money if they don't even trust him? They could have someone like Teddy Bridgewater do what he's doing for about $10mill less a season and have more money for other players.

He's surrounded by a great defense, OL and run game that can hide his lack of ability.
