Dak’s agent knows we don’t have a backup plan. Philip Rivers is washed up and we have no idea if he’d even choose to play in Dallas. You might get one year out of Tom Brady who again, might much rather play in Vegas or LA. I guess you can put a little pressure on Dak if you draft Tua in the 2nd or trade up for a late 1st but is that really something we want to be doing? Seems like McCarthy was a win-now move, so if I was Dak I’d call Dallas’ bluff too. He’s their only real opportunity to be competitive this year and next imo. Brady seems like a pipe dream and who knows if it would even workout all that well.

Our backup plan should be drafting a QB. We should do that either way.

So it's looking like a showdown is looming soon.

I had hoped this would not happen.

Very possible. Knowing the importance of getting on the same with the new hc, dak's agent could urge him to hold out much the way tank was told to forego surgery until his deal was done. Sucks. But that is just business.

If the Dak dealnisnt going to work out the only guy that I would like to see them bring in would be Carr

I hope it gets ugly but I think the Cowboys cave and wave our superbowl chances bye bye.
I agree. If they pay him as much as they are asking then I dont see how they will be able to keep talent and thier hopes to go deep into the playoffs will be extremely difficult.

On the flipside, if they do pay him and lose talent I feel like the coaching staff will have the ability to overcome. At least I hope they will.

Anybody who comes here to play QB knows how all the expectations go here.

So they are going to take as much as possible money-wise becuz the pressure is going to be to win like nowhere else.

No discounts, no bargains.

This is Daks position now.

I can understand how he is thinking. After 4 years here already..

he feels he has way out performed his contract and wants that money back.

He also knows he wants to plan for the cap rising and other QBs passing him money-wise.

But that is going to happen regardless.

So have to just hope it comes together.

I have tired of the money bickering.

What type of heavy artillery will Jones and Prescott be lobbing at each other? "Harsh language?"

Carr would be fine by me.

Good pocket passer and has had good teams at times but injuries derailed him.

What would we offer they would take?

Our #17 this year?

Would prefer #1 in 2021.

But doubt the Raiders would bite.

In the Cooper trade they were looking great as we were 3-5 and heading for a top ten pick.

Then with Coopers help, we pulled the season out and made the playoffs.

Would the Raiders do that again with us using a 2021 pick?

Not sure.

I would say yes if it was determined before the draft Dak was out.

Fun to think about.

He's not helping his case by holding out and refusing to show up to the Dallas facilities. It doesn't set a good example for the new coaching staff, who seem to have a lot of power now since cleaning house. Dak had almost every weapon at his disposal and still couldn't step up to the plate THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. I understand having 1-3 bad games, but he was terrible the entire 2nd half of the season. I understand wanting to get paid as the player, and I know football is a business, but I agree on the transition tag or whatever tag it is where it allows for that player to be traded. Let him find out his own value and go from there. This is going too far. Other players of other teams don't have such problems, and if they do, they're rare.

Also, a QB shouldn't hold out. A RB or WR, sure. QB? No. Not a good look at all.
Ummm. He’s played for 2 million over 4 years. He has earned the right to sit out if he wants to be paid.

If Dak and all these people who highly support him would just admit to themselves Dak is somewhere in the middle of all 32 QBs and yes he deserves to be paid but not 35 mil. In all honesty he deserves a 5 year contract at about 24- 25 mil a year. This whole thing is getting overblown.

Agreed. They got basically 4 years of free play from him at the most valuable position in the sport and now there like "uhhh we don't know, where timid and unsure"
