The Cowboys should sign Keenum, and let Dak decide what to do next

The Cowboys should get Case Keenum and give him a four year deal.
He would be an upgrade immediately, and at worst would solidify the Cowboys at quarterback if they do eventually sign Dak.
Phillip Rivers is also available, and is an upgrade.
Ryan Tannehill is available.
The Cowboys don't have to be in this soap opera with a guy who went 8-8 but wants to be paid like he is a proven winner.
Signing a veteran like Keenum- who has been a winner- would likely change Dak's attitude towards a new contract.
But I believe that the Cowboys would make it to the NFC Championship game next year with a guy like Keenum under center.
I'm for Keenum coming as a backup but not as a starter.

Case Keenum is better than Dak Prescott??? In what reality?

Oh, great follow up thread to your "I hope Dak signs with another team" thread from yesterday.

Keenum could be had very cheap. Foles could be traded for, Winston could be had
There are options if we don't want to pay 35 million plus. If our coaching staff and FO are game let's move on.
Do we believe in the rest of the infrastructure of the team? Dak is slightly below Cousins in terms of talent. Cousins is a more accurate short and long passer. I dont think he is worth 28 mllion a year. I think Goff is severely overpaid.
Wentz cant stay on the field. Has not won a playoff game.
If you tell me the Cowboys go cheap at QB, and sign Chris Jones, Amari Cooper, Shaq Barrett I am good with it. Build up the rest of the team and give me an average QB. Dak is just above average. He is no Wilson, Rodgers. He is not a game changer.
the only way it would be worth it to let dak walk, and I dont mean tag I mean walk, is to get a qb as good,
for about 5 mil a year.
if you get a vet and pay 20-25 your not really saving much money , it might get you one good player signed, or 2 ok players.
Best thing would be to draft one in 1st or 2nd round.

But this is all up to mike and the jones boys. They are the ones who will decide if they want dak and if he is signed, tagged, or let walk.
No one is even wondering does mike want dak?? or does he not want dak, or doesnt matter either way.
I would like to hear what mike wants.

In fact if I was Dak I would want to talk to mike and get him on my side.

lmao this is GOLD. Crazy how much hate Dake is getting. Case Keenum better than Dak lmao. Lets also not forget Case will be 32 years old next year. HOW ABOUT NOOOOOO.
Case Keenum never had a season close to Dak's last year. Case is a back up QB.

Not if Moore benches our two top WR's on the most important play of the season on 4th and goal again. :lmao:

Some more of your grade school mentality coming through. Lets take a look at Case Keenum. He was undrafted and I don't hold that against him because so was Romo but Romo spent his entire career with one team the Cowboys. Keenum will be looking for his 8th team in going into his 9th season. Yes of those eight teams he was with with the texans and rams twice. His first 2 teams he was a practice squad member. He only stayed with the same team for more than 1 season once and that was a 2 year stint with the rams. He's never been able to hold the starting QB job on ANY team for more than one season.

So ya using grade school logic it might be smart for the Cowboys to sign a QB that is on his 8th team in nine years but the rest of us know that even average QB's don't bounce around that much and if he was good one of those first seven teams would have locked him up to more than a one or two year contract. Please stop trying to be a GM because you're not very good at it at ALL.

Will he sign a 4 year deal for $4 million total? All of it can be guaranteed. If not then no thanks

Really can't understand why fans don't understand the market nor how good is or isn't. Guess we just have to wait until he signs the deal they eventually get to and then wait for the complaining and then in 2 years see that his price will be some 15 million under market.

Let's just bring in Tebow: He took the Broncos to the playoffs so he must be a proven winner.
Actually, he is.
He ran an offense similar to the Ravens with Lamar Jackson. And he was successful.
