My gut tells me Elliott will have a longer career than some suspect. It's ok to assume that because we all know RBs have shorter careers, but I believe Elliott is different. In the case for Prescott, I honestly think the tag is just to give them more time to iron out a deal. I can't realistically think that the team is that dumb to move from him.

Zeke has been very durable throughout college and NFL. I don;t think it's a fluke, he's a tough mfer. I'm disappointed in his "take me out" approach, as that is a new development. Maybe a full off-season of training and a new head coach with expectations will (make) for a nasty zeke in 2020.

So in order to win a SB, a team needs a cheap RB and a cheap QB? Sounds easy enough. Cut Dak and Zeke and sign a couple a CFL players. Championship!!

Actually.. Yes..

Spend your resources on Defense, get quality coaches, and then go draft a QB.

Right now we are built for mediocrity and paying these guys just cements it.

How many top tier Rbs were in the super bowl this year? It is not an essential position and you don't have to pay that position to have an effective offense. You can go into the draft just about any year and find really good rbs in rounds 2-4.

It's not the SB but Henry, Kamara, Bell, Lewis, Gurley, and Elliott have all been instrumental to playoff runs these past few years.

Seemed to work for the Eagles Super Bowl team, I like your idea! Rams did very well with CJ Anderson and a good D as well. Load up on D and get a good O line.

They had a 10 point lead with just under 7 minutes to play with the RB they had.. Had they not allowed that 40+ yard play to Tyreek Hill on 3rd and 15 with just over 7 minutes left they would have won the game. The 49ers were gashing KC with the run in the second quarter. They rushed for 141 yards in the game. Their RB wasn’t the issue.
For 6 yards a pop.

Look at all the great running teams that made it deep into the playoffs this year - San Fran. Tennessee, Baltimore. Now, you can run with scheme or you can run with talent. San Fran and Baltimore run with scheme from the RB position, Defenses will catch up with San Fran next year. Baltimore gets their top shelf running game from an exceptional running QB which makes their mid tier RB much much better. Tennessee runs with power and force.

You need a strong running game without a top shelf QB. If you don't have coaches to scheme you into it, you better have talent!

All the Eagles and Rams had to do to get to a SB was beat Garrett.

Zeke has 2 or 3 seasons left of “prime” in him...

we essentially have him locked up for those years and can get out of his last year of the deal cheap if the drop off doesn’t warrant that last year

people act like fans have to contribute to some fund that goes to playing these players
Ticket sales? Merchandising and product purchases?

If say they had Zeke and not their RBs and lost say Sherman and one of their defensive lineman you think they are better off?
That wasn't the question. I'm not saying they (or we) should overpay for a RB. I'm just asking if you think a better RB on a team like that would have been the difference.

I disagree.. You can run the ball with cheap guys at a high level.

RB's are everywhere and volume is the most important thing when it comes to their success.
If the cheap guys run at a high level they will eventually want to run at a high level making more coin

Was their run game a problem?

Their run game and defense was how they got there.

If i'm San Francisco and I have to pick between Byron Jones or Zeke Elliot for that game against the Chiefs i'll take Byron Jones.

Fans care about the salary cap and how we spend our resources towards it.

Some fans think it's stupid to pay a RB a bunch of money because production at that position is mostly decided by volume and RB's tend to get hurt.
I could careless about being winning some salary cap super bowl

spend the money and take a shot at the damn ship

I don’t care about a dynasty... if we could win one every decade I’d be an ecstatic fan
