I mentioned this in another post, but that post is like 8 pages long so I figured I would put it here.

I mainly looked into some comparisons because the main go tos I see are alot of "Dak will never be accurate" or "Dak will never be a Brady or Brees" and "Hes already played 4 seasons hes not going to get any better"

So I went and looked for myself...honestly I was very surprised! https://www.pro-football-reference....toyear_5=2007&player_id5=RoetBe00&idx=players

Highest completion percentage but hes inaccurate? Oh wait he dinks and dunks...weird because he was rated 2nd in yrds per attempt and 1st in adjusted yards per attempt although I dont even know what that means.
Ya but with that protection it's easy to wait for recievers to get open...only he was sacked more times than everyone but Roethlisberger...hmmm...oh ya highest qb rating and way less thrown interceptions than those guys. Still not sure how an inaccurate qb throws 97 tds and only 36 ints. Talking about rushing would just be unfair with the guys I'm comparing him to for sure so not going there....so with all that being said...how come so many Dallas "fans" are treating this guy like he's garbage?

Primarily because they forgot how much Romo struggled in this same offense under Garrett earlier in his career...

Picking the best QBs is cherry picking your comparison sample. Say Dak beat their stats. That doesn't tell you much unless you know how many QBs that turned out mediocre *also* beat those stats.

QBs *can* improve after year 4. The great ones likely did. But an ocean of average players didn't, and another ocean got *worse*.

Tom Brady has two legs. Dak has two legs.
Dak is just like Tom Brady? No more so *by that fact* than for all the other players in the league who have two legs.

Dude I dont know what you are talking about. I picked the top qbs out there. I picked hall of fame quarterbacks. I honestly didnt even expect Dak to even match up to those guys. Brady, Roethlisberger, Brees, Manning...if I wanted to cherry pick I would pick guys like Flacco, Eli, Dilfer ect.

Look man it's apparent that you are not a fan of Dak and never will be, so this post wasnt aimed at you. You're another dime a dozen fan who has unrealistic expectations and lives your life trying to be right on the internet. So glad you were able to open my eyes by saying that Dak and Brady have two legs. You win with impeccable reasoning and perfect logic.

Show me a qb with similar stats to Dak that wasnt succesful...yes average qbs have average stats and barely improve. Matter of fact even if his stats stay this consistent it's more than enough to win a superbowl. So what are you trying to prove here? The dude is above average already. So are you saying hes going to get worse?

Seriously dude you should stop parading around the forums and go be an analyst on espn! You're loaded with talent and insight.

Dak's problem, will not be fixed with a championship, less money, etc. Fans , will be fans. They will find something else to nitpick; he wears bowties, he hangs out with Zeke, etc.

So it begins...stats to show how great Dak is. In off-season form already.

The 4 years max talk is silly. We saw Romo develop over his 10 year, actual, playing career. Brees, Brady, Rodgers, etc all develop and make progress in certain areas as they get older. May be mechanics, reads and consistency.

He's going to get another HC this year, that did work with Favre and Rodgers. Now, not saying it's a guarantee Dak will become elite or anything, but to say with certainty he is what is at 27 years old as a QB is disingenuous. Unless you just hate the guy, pretty sure most saw improvements here and there on his mechanics and footwork.
They hate Dak seriously!!

They live in an alternate universe

Why not pick the best from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's too?

So true. Good post.

Dak wears a different bowtie after each game. That's Dak's way of advertising to sell them in his mother's name who died of Colon cancer while he was still in college.

ALL proceeds go to the cancer society. You'll often see Dak pointing towards the sky after scoring. It means "that's for you mom". The kid was raised right. He's not only a leader and class act on the field, but off the field as well. His mom would be so proud of her son.

He improved a lot this past year but he is not in the realm of Top 3 QB like he wants to get paid which is my main issue with him. He racked up a good deal of garbage time stats in games we were either winning massively or when it was pretty much set that we were losing. I want him to play better against the top teams. We aren't ever going to win a Super Bowl if we can't consistently compete with the top teams in the league.

Jimmy G is comparable to Dak. That's the contract you should expect. Only Dak is younger and has more experience.

I tried to stay recent because in the 2000's the way the game is played changed significantly. From the 60s to the 90s there was much less passing and DBs could get away with way more back then. Now it's a pass era.

2016 is VERY different from 2011 as well.

The short version here is there are a handful of squeaking wheels on this forum who have such a loyalty to Tony Romo no matter what Dak dose it will flatout never be any good . Every negative thing they say about him has been proved wrong , but they will continue relentlessly to move the goal posts and ignore the measurables that the normal football world use that are not overly invested in Tony Romo to judge QB performance .

Dont sweat it enjoy Daks game nothing we could do about Jerry wasting his rookie contract with a poor coaching staff . Time to watch Dak really break out this year with a good coach and staff that will hold the rest of the team accountable .

Will be nice to see us not lead the league in dropped passes , missed FGs , and bad field position along with establishing a defense that can take the ball away one in a while . How cant you like a QB that can get tough yards and straight arm guys to the ground if only the rest of the team other than Jeff Heath played with that kind of effort and toughness
Tony Romo???? Give it a rest no one cares about him except the Dak misguided it seems as they always bring him into the discussion, it’s very strange. All the bad = team any good = Dak, what’s new in that. Only Dak plays hard, the rest are lazy, poor Dak having to suffer so. This is one of the best posts yet, keep the laughs coming.
