Yeah... Unfortunately stats don't factor in opponents.. Dak was great against garbage teams.

We saw how he did in big games.. We've seen the post season success he has had under his Rookie contract. (virtually none)

If Dak was one of the best NFL QB's we easily make the playoffs.

If charts like this are your proof that Dak is awesome then why not try to get Derek Carr.

If I can get Carr for 25 or Dak for 35-40 then give me Carr.

that's a terrible arguement, the 49ers dont even trust Garrapolo to run a,2 minute drill and yet they have him 35 million. good QBs dont have great stats against good teams, heck Mohomes threw 2 ints in the SB

It's not a tough argument to make though that we haven't won with Dak adding almost nothing to cap, and so having him take up 10%+ of the cap going forward sure isn't going to make it easier.
Dak has won 40 out of 64 games, plus a playoff game.

He’s played well in all 3 playoff games. The moment has never been too big for him.

It’s amazing to me that people think QBs like that grow on trees.

Yes, Dak will be expensive to sign. That’s the cost of having a good, veteran QB in 2020 and beyond. The alternative is to start from scratch and re-enter QB purgatory. The years between Aikman and Romo were pure misery. We got VERY LUCKY that the misery ended with an undrafted guy in Romo.

There are at least 20 starting QBs who aren’t as good as Dak. Why don’t those teams all just call 1-800-Quarterback and get their guy???

Stats can also be interpreted differently. People that like Dak see this stay as a good thing. People that don't like Dak pull crap outta their butt to twist it.

This is yet another thread trying to convince people through statistics what they don't see on the field. I'm a very good driver most of the times, except when I drive drunk. But overall I'm top 10.

Cowboys have made the playoffs 2 out of 4 years since Dak has been here. Played great in plenty of big games. In fact, played great in 2 out of the last 3 games which were all were for the playoffs. Rams and Commanders. ONLY game he played poorly was the Eagles game and if you recall his shoulder was injured and didnt practice all week.

Or dont you remember? Oh wait, that doesnt suit your agenda.

Lead the NFL in last drive victories his first 3 years. 40-24 is the Cowboys record under Dak.

Looks like your stupid comments just get blown out of the water every time troll. :oldcouple::oldcouple::dance::dance:
8-8 , 9 point can't get it done Dak., but it was the shoulder (how many excuses do you have for him) , then a miracle happened the Commanders came to town and the shoulder was healed and Mr. average did good again racking up those stats against the dregs, alas now he want's the $$$$ for another failed season he says is not his fault and the shoulder heaven forbid may need surgery so he say's pay me now or else. Tag and bag and hopefully wave goodbye if there's some one dumber than Jerry that will drop Dallas 2 firsts for Mr average, sad to say there will be no takers only Jerry is that dumb.

that’s such garbage.

we’ve seen some of the best QBs miss the postseason.

As I have proven to you the other day.

6 of the top 7 teams in turnover differential are in the playoffs

Dallas was negative there. Dak has the worst starting field position in the league because of that. You know that already.

If our defense got a half full more turnovers to even be middle of the pack and not bottom of the league..we make the playoffs 100%.

We should’ve made the playoffs anyways..

Philadelphia sure as heck didn’t have things going perfect for them.

There is always some excuse.. Dallas has it better then anyone in the East.

This high turnover amazing defense is going to be hard to put together after we have invested everything into the offensive side of the ball.

And if it isn't, paying him that much is a big mistake. That's why I wish we could have a year with Big Mac before breaking out the checkbook.
That's looking like what they plan on doing with the franchise tag. I believe in Dak but if they don't...franchise tag is the correct approach.

I don't think people want high turnovers. I think baby steps first. Can we get off the field on 3rd downs or make some plays on defense? That's a start. Then you can worry about turnovers.

Ok, well that is your opinion that his ceiling is higher then Tony Romo.. Whatever though.. Be that guy..

Pay him for what you think he will be... Then don't make excuses when the team around him isn't good enough to win a title.

All these QB's getting paid have teams that have won or gone to the Superbowl.

Also, I think the Goff and Wentz deal are dumb as well but at least Philly got their Superbowl.. LA is DONE and we are following in their footsteps without the same amount of success as they had.

Well the Cowboys actually draft better than the Eagles and RAms so i'm not sure why you guys keep using that as a excuse not to pay Dak. All the Cowboys have to do is continue to draft like they have been and they will be alright. No more trading draft picks for veterans unless they are later round picks. Trading 1sts for stars is over.

Eagles have sucked in the draft as have the Rams. That's their true demise. If you want to use the excuse that those contracts stopped them from drafting well then go ahead but I don't think I can ride with that one.

I've explained a thousand times this week why paying a mediocre QB like he is elite doesn't win you titles.

I'm not explaining it again for you. You'll just have to learn on your own and make excuses when he doesn't.

Just another stupid comment. Dak is top 10 and climbing. Cutting Dak and going with a rookie isnt going to win any title either. LOL

So tell me........how many teams paying the highest paid running back in the NFL win titles? LOL

Maybe you can swap teams before it gets too bad for you? LOL

I know for a fact that Cowboys fans on here wont miss a troll like you.

Dak is the leading passer in the NFL. Let that sink in for a while. :lmao::lmao2::lmao2:

I do think Dak takes too much blame for loses, just like Romo did. Dak's shoulder the last 6 weeks is a big factor in my opinion.

Dak hurt his shoulder in the Rams game (week 15). There were only 2 games after that. I am confused. (and we went 2-1 those games including the Rams)

Agree with the first part though.

If they got to the post season and actually started doing something they would naturally shut people up.

The problem is they never do.

When we're good i'm just as big of a homer as Rockport on here. I believe.. I love having hope.

My biggest hope now is that maybe we don't have a coach we have to overcome every Sunday but now that is being met with a Giant contract for the mediocre QB as the Coach finally goes out the door.
Dak is not a mediocre QB. He's a darn good one. When will you ever get tired of making yourself look so ignorant?

Everything you said is true and yet we won just 1 playoff game while paying almost nothing for our QB. Paying him more means less for the rest of the roster. The question is whether a top 10 QB is worth that much of the cap as opposed to me thinking that we will just get a better QB.

That's when they talked about it, but if you look back he wasn't throwing the same the previous 3 or 4 weeks. It was night and day.

Offense took to long to show up in that game also. It's always problems with Dallas lol
Was a fun season though
No. The crooked officials killed 3 drives in the first half for the Cowboys, thus keeping crucial potential points off the board.

Yep these fools will be crying how its everyone else's fault but Daks.
Just like both of you cried for Romo for over 10 years. Dak has won more games, more 4th quarter comebacks, more game winners and a playoff win in his first 4 years than Romo's first 4 years, yet y'all are still whining and sounding more and more foolish.

I wanted Dallas to trade Romo! They didnt listen to me then and now the same mistake is about to made if they sign Dak. This will probably end with Dak costing McCarthy his job.

Once again, this is a terrible argument. Just because Romo didn't play in 2016 doesn't mean that his massive contract wasn't on the books. Dak Prescott has spent the better part of 4 years operating under a cap that still gave a disportionate amount of money to the QB position.

We already know that Dak can produce in such a cap situation.
