Perhaps he would take snaps away from Cobb and work from the slot in certain situations, especially red zone. I’m sure any final call will be up to Coach McCarthy.
cobb and dez both wont be here it would be a choice one or the other..no room for two slower aging vets.. Dez could take cobbs role if he makes the team..

That's fish old bias buddy, so of course fish is gonna string and paint it to where it's a longshot chance.
Not a route guy, not a separation guy, not a deep over top speed guy , he's now in his 30s, and assuming cooper, Cobb are resigned he'd be fighting for the 4th WR which could used for a speedy return ace on game day.
And that doesn't include all the sideline antics in the QBs ear, late meetings etc.
Let him get a fresh start somewhere else..and let's get another fresh 4th WR/return guy,.imo

People wanting Cobb over Dez is funny. Same guys cry about loyalty with players. Losers

Cue the rue-age. LOL.

I'd like to see it but honestly don't see a need if we re-sign Cooper.
Dez has made it clear he is more than fine playing a backup/part-time role. If Dez proves in training camp and preseason that he still has some game, I believe it would help our passing attack if having Cooper, Gallup, Cobb and Dez out on the field, especially at the same time. How do you stop that? You can't.

I just hope this decision comes from MM. I could care less if he plays or not as long as the decision comes from MM and not of Stephen or Jerry
I'm 1000% confident if Mike's NOT on board with this, it WILL NOT HAPPEN. But if you look at MIke teams during his Packer tenure, he was never afraid of squeezing the last few years from aging vets. IT's our FO that never wanted anything to do with 30+ players.

In fact, I'll go as far as to say Stephen has ALREADY gotten positive feedback from Mike. Think about it, I doubt he would make such comment about an issue as controversial as this w/o running it by his new coach.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I’d want him based on passion alone. This teams got a bunch of finesse guys and we need some dawgs, and Dez is a DAWG
Witten could have been considered a dawg. How did that all work out?

Couple things .......his admission to a reduced/supplemental role shows how much he's been humbled IMO. Mike McCarthy prides himself on being the ultimate alpha dog. His feeling is every team needs a few. In other words, Mike would no problem controlling/containing Dez.
