After intercepting only eight passes in 2015, the Cowboys will be looking to upgrade their defensive backfield this off-season.

Morris Claiborne is a free agent and Brandon Carr could be looking at a pay cut. Orlando Scandrick is coming off a serious knee injury. Even if all three returned completely healthy, the Cowboys could certainly afford to add a talented young piece to the mix.

Last year's first-round pick, Byron Jones, looks to be the team's starting free safety of the future. Of course, he has the ability to play almost all of the defensive back positions if needed.

While another safety could be added in this year's draft, an early defensive-back pick would likely be spent on a corner.

Here are 10 possibilities for the Cowboys at corner and safety.

First thing they should do is definitely install Jones as the starting FS. Enough with having him cross train on all positions. Let him potentially grow into a great FS as opposed to having him just end up being decent at 4 different positions.

I wouldn't mind seeing them go CB like Fuller in the 2nd round and then going CB again later in draft with a guy like Cyrus Jones or Keveraie Russell.

If we cut Carr, as many here are trumpeting, we will need to draft multiple CBs. One will have to be taken early.

That's why I'm inclined to see us keep Carr. Try to renegotiate a cheaper deal. I would love to see us sign a stud in FA...but that's a tall order. CBs are always in high demand. They won't be cheap.

I want the quality linemen in the first round.

Then you can pick up DB's throughout the rest of the draft but since our DL is so poor I think that is where you need to spend your premium pick.

I hope we draft Carson Wentz but if we don't then we could trade down a few spots and get a really good Defensive Tackle or a guy like Noah Spence.

Also, an extra pick may land us a guy like Jaylon Smith who we could redshirt.

I'm fine with another year of Carr if that means the Cowboys improving the DL.

I have seen Ramsey, Cash, Alexander and Fuller play live. Jeremy Cash is an interesting prospect. He has all the accolades in the world and crazy stats.

I saw this one live. Didn't impress me.

Fuller is a solid round 2 pick if he makes it to us. NFL pedigree from a cornerback college.
Ramsey is a monster. Not sure what spot he translates to, but his presence is known on the field at all times. I have no beef with him at 4.
Alexander is small but can stick to WR's like glue.

Interesting that they don't have Karl Joseph listed.

Also, why describe Alexander as small at 5'11? That's tall for a corner.

The only problem with this is Carr just a mediocre CB at best.

The whole point to this offseason is to try to improve in the secondary. Bringing Carr back doesn't really do that.

I would consider signing an expensive free agent only if as a trade-out for Carr. I believe for what we're paying him we can get better play from a younger FA. In fact, for what we're paying him we should be able to get a stud FA and a No. 3 corner and fit them in for around the same cap number.

Was Fullers Dad the player from the 49ers if so I remember he was suppose to be Ronnie Lotts protégé before the career ending neck injury If this is the same Fuller

Fuller's brothers: Vincent, Corey and Kyle, all played college football at Virginia Tech.Kyle and Corey both currently play in the NFL for the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions, respectively.Vincent played in the NFL for three different teams from 2005 to 2011.

The question is does improving the secondary only come from adding premium picks, or would improving the pass rush make avg cb's better. I tend to think the latter. If you want better play out of the secondary put some heat on the qb's throwing at them

QB and the trenches. But once again the Cowboys with a top 10 pick once again will probably lock in on a DB. LOL.

With a top #10 pick and even a top 35 pick I prefer to draft players with no injury history. At # 4 we should be selecting a bonafide blue chip prospect.

When looking at our last top 10 pick, Claiborne, it was not mentioned enough about the injury that turned up on his wrist. We spent a few seasons watching him play injured and/or not at all.

Therefore not developing properly. Here we are talking about CB again. A top 5 has to be a player you can build that side of the ball around.

You trade out and try to pick up picks and look at players who are injured now that have too 15 potential and u have a good chance at selecting the Sean Lee's and Brian Cushings of the game. Very talented but can't stay on the field enough to lead your side of the ball.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

I think we need to draft 7 CBs and trade our 2017 first round for a 5th rounder and take a CB there as well

I can here the spin already. " We basically 2 CB's in the first round when you consider we traded a 1st for that pick in the 5th"
