Dallas Cowboys cornerback Byron Jones (31), safety Tim Scott (41) and cornerback Jason Wilson look on during a minicamp for rookie players Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the team’s Valley Ranch practice facility in Irving, Texas. (G.J. McCarthy/The Dallas Morning News)

The Dallas Cowboys opened their Valley Ranch headquarters to media members on Friday and Saturday for rookie minicamp. Both days started with practice outside, followed by open locker room before lunch and then back outside for afternoon practice.
Cowboys coaches were also available for interviews as they exited the practice fields each day.

In case you missed out on any of the highlights, here’s a top 10 list to catch you up.

1.) Two of Dallas’ eight draft picks have already been signed.

So basically only housekeeping items which is all a rookie camp is good for. It's like spring football in college. The good players (First Team vets) aren't even participating.

I do enjoy reading about Greg Hardy's intensity. Hopefully that emotion will spread throughout the team.

oh yea, that i knew. i had no idea the playbooks were on ipads, that's all. kinda funny.

I think...

You use what you're paid to use on TV, and then you use what you want to use when the League isn't gonna fine you for using something different. :D

2.) Cowboys rookies received their new iPad playbooks last week. First-round pick Byron Jones explained how losing the tablet computer could cost players up to $11,000.

from the linked article:

“Well, we got these nice iPads,” the defensive back out of UConn explained. “Along with the nice iPads you get a little notice that says if you lose this iPad, your maximum fine is $11,000. That’s a good welcome [moment]. If it’s not charged it’s $2,100. If you leave it in your car it $2,100.

“That’s definitely different than college. We actually had hard copies [in college], not these fancy iPads. I can work it. I’m a Windows Surface guy but I’m learning the iPad.”

What is wrong with that. Do you mean this as a bad thing? If so why?
It serves a useful purpose. Like new hire orientations.

I levels the field for all the rookies, learn some basics of the play book. Learn how the camps and the organization works. All players are on the same level and no intimidation or distraction from having the vet players around. Then they get the majority of the media attention. This way the media also get to know the rookies a bit better, on a face to face basis.

Chaz Green got off to a horrible start.

He didn't get through either practice I believe and it was hard to find a Florida game that he wasn't being rotated in and out of the game in.

It does serve a useful purpose. But the media and some on here want to be able to make career projections based off two days of workouts against other new hires. Keep it in perspective!

I am, I didn't say they can tell an all pro. Though some think they can tell one, or a bust...LOL...
I'll wait until TC and some pre season games, then still keep an open outlook.
