Totally agree. I still think Ellis is going back to DE. less wear and tear ont eh Achilles.

I'd love it. Both are BC O-linemen. They play well in the NFL.

Even if he plays well, I may feel this way. I'm tired of dinosaur QBs.

I don't know about this only because I don't know much about Maarten and I thought Columbo performed relatively well last season.

I hope this becomes true, I know many of us has very high hopes form him.

I know many fans believes he is a decent backup but I don't think he is and I don't believe he can toss the ball any further than 20 yards. I just hope that we never have a need for him.

Perhaps but if Folks kicks well, it will be hard to cut him. Perhaps we'll outright win the job, if not, we most likely stash him at PS.

I hope so. I'm not a huge fan of Polite, and Hoyte doesn't add any dimension past his mauling blocks.

He's supposed to. I doubt he makes any serious run at a starting position though.

Either Burnett or Carpenter better...we've got a lot invested in our LB corps. They need to start showing up...and becoming a dominant group.

This seems to be the common opinion on this board. I'll take the other side on this one...I think he'll pleasantly surprise cowboys' fans. He's only two year removed from a very good season. His career QB rating is higher than two of the QB's the cowboys have hired to become STARTERS in the last four years...Johnson is a decent security blanket.

Offense - Fasano or Austin. Defense - Carpenter or Watkins.



Deon Anderson will be this years Beriault in terms of winning over fans.

Fasano gets some respect.

Mickey's reports of increased sacks and INT's gets the people on this board riled up beyond comprehension...only to be dissapointed during preseason.

Davis proves to be a good signing.

We lose a key player for an extended amount of time. My guess...Flozell.

Spencer wont take over from Ellis till midseason.

Marten is too young, he will spell him now and then on certain plays, but I believe that the Cowboys will use Marten or Free as a situational blocking TE on certain 3rd and one plays, or goal line plays.

I believe that this is totally true, Burnett will take over one of the inside linebacker spots on nickel defense and help more on special teams, now that we lost Fowler.

This is what I am afraid of, I heard in pratices that Brad Johnson couldnt get the ball deep quickly, that the ball would stay stay up there, thats makes for interceptioins. I hope I am wrong, but I worry about this, but hopefully Romo wont have the big injury.

I disagree with this too, I am going on what Wade Phillips said when he was at Denver and with the Saints I think as special teams coach I think, he kept 2 kickers, and brought along the rookie kicker till he was ready to take over in a couple of years. Best I remember that Phillips said the first year one kicker he had was Morten Anderson, and he was a rookie at one time. Now, again, the only way we will keep 2 kickers is that Folk will have to be really good at kicking deep off. If he doesnt, then I see the Cowboys trying to stash him on the pratice squad, till he gets better.

I agree with this, I think we will see alittle bit of the new defense, not awhole lot, so teams will have video of us though but enough to slowly bring the defensive players along.

I agree with this, I think one player tradeable is Tyson Thompson, another one could be a WR like Hurd, or someone else. Maybe a young offensive linemen, with that, I hope in some way that we can trade for the young linebacker that went to the Giants Zak Deossie, I would love to have him, he can play snapper too, as well as linebacker, and he is a big kid, 6-5 250 i think with 4.58 in 40 i think.

this might happen, but bergen will really have to show something, if he doesnt maybe a trade for a backup 3rd te, or we just keep 2 TEs and keep 2 fullbacks due to Jason Garrett going back to the fullback position as with the 90's cowboys.

i agree with this, i think jones will have a monster year, and so will spears, hopefully though he can stay injury free training camp this year, i also think spencer will have a huge year, and so will ware.

Not for awhile which could be awhile. But Spencer will force his way onto the field and take time away from Ellis and push at the end. Ahh, a pass rush. It should happen.

Again good post. I think Ball and Watkins will surprise. I hope we can get something for Reeves and/or Jones. I think one will get knocked off by Ball.

This should be an interesting year.

IMO, ain't gonna happin. All offseason the staff has been saying Greg Ellis is our starling OLB, and I expect that to be the case for atleast 6 games. Spencer has the benefit of sitting back, and only being used in situations he'll excell in, so why not let him learn more when we have a proven guy at the position. Unless Ellis is just horrible, he'll start.

I hope so, none of our FBs since Moose have been too good.

I hope so, but I'd rather either Free or McQuistern show enough that severing ties with Flozzell after this season will be easy, and we won't have to hear any L.Davis to LT rumors.

Not really a big prediction. He's entering his 3rd year, and is probably the best cover LB on the team.

I attribute his bad play to the minnesota WRs. Granted Brad isn't Brady, but the Vikes WRs were on par the Pats. I think he'll be fine, but I predict he won't play one snap.

Actually I predict that we'll look the same during pre-season as we did last year, why unveil anything in August?

Off the top of my head, I could possibly see us trading a WR, (Sam Hurd is the most likely candidate), maybe trading for a NT, outside that I can't see any trades.
