Video: 105.3: Aubrey Says Reported Offer is "Fake", Broaddus says $10m demand is true though

I don't disagree with you....but here is the rub....and I say this EVERY time this happens

The way these contracts are structured, the teams wins every time a player OUTPERFORMS his contract. The team does not(and a lot of times cannot)...approach a player and say "you are playing at a rate 7 times what we are paying you, so let's rip this contract up and get your money right".

Contrasty, if a player UNDERPERORMS his contract, a team can(and a lot of times does)...rip up your contract and either asks you to take a pay cut or let you go. And if you are let go, your next deal from your new team we will be based on how you performed on your last team....so you can expect a paycut. No problem....that is system that is currently in place.

So what does this mean? When you are a Dak Prescott making 4th round pick money and leading your team to 13-3 and a home playoff game...financially the team is WINNING in a major way....and when the player gets a chance to FINALLY win....he wants his market value AND trying to somewhat recoup the money he should have been making when he was severely underpaid.

Brandon Aubrey was severely underpaid based on how he performed. But hey, the team took a chance on him and so they got to reap the benefits of taking that chance. Now...now....it is HIS turn..and he wants to be the highest paid (and he should because he is the best)...and I want some excess to recoup some of "free" performance the team received. We can debate this ideology all day....but this is what it is folks.

Brandon should not be punished because the team screwed up with Treyvon Diggs. Personally, I think there were plenty of red flags with Diggs and that is one player I would have traded as opposed to pay. But again, the team has to own that. It is not Brandon Aubreys job to manage the Cowboys salary cap. The Jones family earn BILLIONS to figure out the cap. And they get those billions regardless if they get it wrong or right. What a life!!!!!!!!

He can be the highest paid in the league by a nice amount at 7 per year….hes reportedly asking 10

Funny how again the usuals think that agents are pure as the driven snow and would never lie. Only Jerry and minions ever do that.
They do that to get media attention and to give them reasons to have their stories clicked on

Regardless of it being fake about he 7.5 offer, they offered nearly 7 which is highest in the league and a very competitive offer
Number of years and guaranteed money is more important and what can make this offer less stellar. Aubrey changed to agent France for this purpose.

Maybe we will get lucky and the Cowboys can strike a deal with him this week at the combine.

Then we can put all this nonsense behind us. Move on to some other drama.
This is one of those cases where we love the player but his position greatly effects our tolerance for salary cap impact.

The other elephant in the room is that kickers can lose their confidence faster than any other position in sports......the physical ability is fine but the mind can betray the body.

Strange position.

If the basis for negotiations is paying higher than any other kicker in the league - then yes it is competitive. You are starting from a higher number and the floor now is higher than any other kicker at the position.

Further more, if he is asking for $10m that’s 53% higher than the next highest kicker. The cowboys putting the negotiations at a number that make him highest paid is a very fair and competitive offer
So apparently his Agent thinks he is worth significantly more from someone.

No kicker is worth that
He is good but so so over hyped because of his exposure playing for the Cowboys
Jerry is a moron who gets attached to players and overpays them
Trade him or let him walk
A good kicker scores more points than anyone on the team... pay the man

If they did offer him around $7 million and Aubrey simply said, "Fake" to $7.5 million, that seems rather disingenuous.

"Fake" makes it sound like they didn't make him an offer or at least they didn't make an offer anywhere around $7.5 million.

At least its nice to see that there are still players that feel ashamed for their ridiculous demands when the public becomes involved.

Wont change their greed though. Just their apporach how to handle it next time.

Btw "approach"? Isnt this that thing that will stay the same this offseason ?

I could swear i read something about that.....

Right!

Lets forbid FGs all the way,

Let me guess: our are one of those who goes nuts because they havent banned the Tush Push already?
i mean it would be like 2point conversions and the nba 3 point line. it would totally change strategy and late game scenarios if you can score 4 from 60.....

Say it is 3 rd and 11.
So a strategy would be if the FG is at 59 yards and worth 3 points. Do you take a 1 yard loss and got for the 4 point 60 yarder?
Or gain a few more yards to make it an easier 3 pointer.
Or still go for the 1st down, then take the 3 points.

I know, game situation, and how far behind are you comes into play.
I am sure we will get analytics eventually, saying what to to as we do with 2 point conversions.

analytics or FG's, fans won't be happy with either choice, they will find some way to get mad and be upset about these issues!

I never believe this front office when one of its shills like Broadus fronts for them
we have seen it time and time again
now maybe the agent is pushing the limits which is exactly what he should be doing
but we have seen the Front Office lie about things in the past through the media so I am with Aubrey at this point
