Video: 105.3: Aubrey Says Reported Offer is "Fake", Broaddus says $10m demand is true though

So reward a team for not being able to advance the ball?

I'm of this mindset, but it would be some time of gamble for a head coach, to try for a 60-66 yard kick and gain an extra point with the idea that if they miss, they give the ball to the opposing team almost at center field.
Would teams try for it, or still punt?

If they did offer him around $7 million and Aubrey simply said, "Fake" to $7.5 million, that seems rather disingenuous.

"Fake" makes it sound like they didn't make him an offer or at least they didn't make an offer anywhere around $7.5 million.
The "Fake" comment can be and is very misleading. To me, initially, I took it as him saying the reports of asking for 10MM is "Fake".

He can be the highest paid in the league by a nice amount at 7 per year….hes reportedly asking 10
I know. But while he was making 900k a year...the highest paid kicker, Harison Butker was making 6.4m a year. So, Aubrey signed the contract and had to fulfil it. Now that his contract is up, he has trying to be paid his market value AND recoup some of the money he "lost" while being grossly underpaid. I doubt he will get 10m...but I could see 8.5

I think at some point Dallas has to decide how much money they want to invest in "scoring points". If I got Dak, Lamb, Pickens and Javonte Williams making big money...I should be scoring TDs and not relying on FGs!

I dont like the way the jones boys use the media in negotiations,it is classless , and unnecessary !
They do it partly to just get attention, and to keep media talking about cowboys, lol i guess they will never learn.
And people think they've changed . I wouldn't believe them if they told me it was sunny outside. They want to keep the Cowboys in the news and want fans to side with them against those greedy players. It doesn't even matter that it's only a kicker. They are in full negotiation mode.

You would think. This offense still has problems scoring TDs at times.

One way to solve it is not forcing the ball to CeeDee inside the 10. If you pay Pickens and keep him....he should be utilized in the part of the field that shrinks. Won't have to play favorites based on paycheck...because they will both be getting paid

Hard to know for sure .. that's why players should stay out of it and let their agents do the talking.
Player and wife now we have media fans vs agent player and wife.

Hmmm what’s true. Sounds like offer wa so far apart they never made it official meaning they talked about 7 they said don’t bother putting it in writing its 10..typical for that firm and its agents.

..yep, yep. Its very nice offer top kicker contract.

But seems like Mr Aubrey and agent want Dak money.

....did we forgot our place? ...;)..

He didn’t lose money…he was unproven and out of the nfl and didn’t have the money to begin with. We signed him, took a chance on him and gave him an opportunity.

He turn that opportunity into a chance to be the highest paid at his position

Sure, but he’s asking for 10m per according to reports
They are no where to close to being a playoff team to be paying a kicker 10M.

They traded for a pass rushing DT and are about to play him in a 3-4...

I'm not paying Aubrey more than 5M, forget 7M, or 10M, place the 2nd round tender on him for 5.5M and hope someone signs him, we pick up a 2nd rounder. Draft a new kicker in the later rounds

The moment he looked like a premier kicker they should have offered four or five million per for a two or three year deal. Of course, they didn’t.

It is not always good business to take every advantage of a player under contract. When that contract is up they, and their agent, return the favor. The Cowboys never try to avoid contentious issues with top players. The only reason they signed JWilliams was because he was about to become a free agent and they can only tag one player. That is reserved for Pickens.

Have they decided what they’re going to do with Kenny Clark? He’s due a $13 million check in mid-March. I’m sure it has not escaped Jerry’s attention.

You could argue they literally did that with bland and diggs and it bit them in the ***. Not to mention Jaylon smith and other guys.

That doesn’t mean you stop trying. All the deals do not work out. Philly has plenty of contracts they regret. They hit on about one of every ten free agents they sign. Their GM is considered some kind of genius only because he doesn’t stop trying.

Stop trying and you could go 30 years without being in a Super Bowl.

That’s ridiculous….no one is saying stop trying, I’m saying what you’re saying isn’t true. They have been proactive with these big deals plenty of times before. If you want to say they should have done this with Micah or dak sure but the kicker?

Jerry’s lack of courage is what hampers the entire organization.
