105.3 the Fan: What if we could get a 1st for Pickens?

The money is there to resign him. They are rolling over 30m and have a good chunk that can come off the books next seasons. Diggs deal. Steele. We will probably replace Steele with a 7th rounder in Nate Thomas who has 2 years left of a rookie contract. Our OL as a whole will actually be very cheap for the next 3 years
Love it. You could even move Guyton to RT and Nate at LT. Steele is done and needs to go.

we have picks now, Pickens has shown he isnt a gamble, looks like a legit #1 WR... you would rather gamble on a rookie?
it's not about a rookie receiver compared to a veteran receiver...Try to look at the big picture, this team isn't one draft pick away, it needs a complete overhaul on defense, this team isn't going anywhere, Pickens is a free agent after this year, so if you could trade him for a second pick, you can still sign him in the offseason if he wanted to resign in Dallas and you'd have a early draft pick next year....

I think there's a possibility we could get a 3, and at this point I would take it.

He looks to be a guy who fights for the ball and usually comes down with the ball no matter where it's thrown, but hey, let's trade him. I don't care.
I know damn well that Howie Roseman or Les Snead could find a way to sign him here with the exact cap space we now have.

My only little issue with Pick is I wish he would stop taunting DBs after almost every catch.....it hasn't happened yet, but Id hate to see a crucial catch late in a game be negated by a flag on him.

Otherwise, hes money on the field

Im here plus GP stayed engaged yesterday, he looks like he has some fight in him..CD has shown some quit when things go bad.
When The Green Bay db pushed him in the back during the playoff beatdown and he did nothing. Just walked away. That was bad. Soft! Michael , Dez , GP would have lost their minds and fought back. He did nothing. His opening game against Philly?! Come on. I can take a drop here or there. But if he’s gonna get paid like a top WR, then you step up and be clutch. I’d rather have GP than Cede. GP burns to win and shows up when you need him most.

I’m not gonna go as far as to say the Cowboys can’t draft,,,,but I will say I do not understand the infatuation with the uncertainty of a draft pick over a legit stud in Pickens. Stupidity to me.
It's not about a uncertainty of draft pick over Pickens, you could have both, the defense needs an overhaul Pickens is a free agent, so you could trade him, get a draft pick and then resign him next offseason if he wanted to come back....it's about attaining picks to rebuild this defense which needs a complete overhaul..Stupidity to me is keeping a free agent player when the team isn't going anywhere this year..

What if we could get a first round pick for Aubrey?

What good is the best kicker of all time, if your D gives up 40 points a game???
If Al Davis was alive id say the chances are damn good.

Hes the only dude I know of that took a kicker in the 1st round of the draft.....17th all round pick.

This is what happens when Jerry picks out your defensive coordinator for the Cowboys. Chances are he'll do it again if he gets around to it. All this crazy talk about doing such desperate things to overcome his idiocy is nothing but brainless babble. We'd best hope all the stars and planets are in perfectly ideal alignment for Jerry's personnel decisions to work out. He's an imposter as a GM. That's a known fact. We might as well get used to it -- he's not going anywhere! It's why we can't have nice things!

Just out of curiosity, what “contender” do you think might be willing to give up a first round draft pick for George Pickens between now and next Tuesday?
Rams don't like draft picks. Imagine Buffalo with him?

Unlike Jerry, if someone is giving up a first they are going to make it contingent with extending him.

He’s not coming back if you trade him if he gets traded that team isn’t letting him walk. Nobody trades a first for a one year rental not even Jerry.

So every other team rebuilds their defense with multiple picks from rounds 1 to 7. But the Cowboys need more than 2 first round picks to do it? What are we talking about here? And you don’t think they’d use that same first rounder to fill the void left by Pickens? This can’t make sense to you

He's an unrestricted free agent. what part of that don't you grasp???

but maybe that first rounder could be a top 20 WR in the league!!! lol
Obviously even a receiver like Pickens doesn't move the needle. Maybe get some defensive help instead. Of course whoever we get is going to be a lot cheaper .

First or a second, a team that's in contention for a Superbowl and is another receiver away, you don't think they'd give up a 32nd pick in the draft for a Superbowl like I don't know, Buff or KC, or a second round selection which would be a late 2nd round selection, they sure would!!!
