Why? What good does it do to be cautious? What is the advantage of being negative? None of us makes the decisions, nothing we say or do can possibly change anything about the situation - so why not simply enjoy it?
I swear I didnt read this post before I wrote mine, but this is perfect nonetheless.....

we are just fans..... we can say or do whatever we want.

Picking a QB these days is truly "Risky Business"

I remember that game well and it gave me hope because Quincy lead the team to a comeback win. No one should be carving out a HOF bust for Canton if that is the main point of your post.

But Quincy never made throws like Dak did, his WRs made him look a lot better than he did. He also wasn't a better prospect than Dak, he was a 4th rounder that Jerry forced as a 2nd round pick . He also had an attitude at UGA while Dak has been known as a leader his whole career.

Also Quincy never really improved with coaching, while Dak clearly has - and has done so quickly.

No his main point was we can't even pencil him in as a viable backup yet at this point. Sample size.

We can pencil him in as anything we want, we can even write it in pen. We don't make the decisions.

Quincy had a great game against the 49er's once too. I was happier that a pig in...well you know.

Maybe...Quincy might have had a better career if we had kept Tony Banks and let Quincy learn from the bench for a while, like we will hopefully do with Romo giving Dak Jedi training.

So, will Dak be a Phillip Rivers or a Wilson/Montana pick down the road? Time will tell.

Me, well I have the patience of an oyster.

With TWO interceptions and what was the final score that day? That's right .. Cowboys lost .. What was his record as Cowboys quarterback? 0-3 .. yeah, that's awesome.

You better prepare yourself .. the day is coming when Moore won't be on the Cowboys any "moore" :(
He was also terrible the first half of that game

I'm fairly optimistic about Zak longer term.

I do think people need be remember some of those pre-draft workouts that all the QBs have. You know, the ones where they complete balls at all depths at a rate of about 95%
Then almost none of those QBs go anywhere in the NFL. Many or most of them probably throw the ball better than Dak at this stage. At that level, dropping back with very limited pressure and throwing to fairly wide open receivers is something they can do blindfolded.

The best thing we learned about Dak was not as much the throws, it was his poise and command of the huddle to go with those throws.
Even Garrett said the throws were not at all what they liked the most; I think his favorite play was when he salvaged the FG on 3rd and long with a run.

He does have the "it" factor. That carries over sometimes.

all sarcasm aside, Dak had a great half game of football. Some of the excitement is also based on the fact that he has some real intangibles to make a good QB. No one said "who the heck?" when we drafted Dak.

Now when we drafted Quincy Carter, yeah heard that said that. he was not the answer, everyone saw that. It would take a whole lot more than one preseason game to convince anyone. Yet he did have one decent year as starter in 2003 before he decided something was more important than football.

Oh how quickly we forget 435yards and 3 TDs playng for a team that was mailing in the season...
wow I remember watching that game and honestly can say that that game was honestly proof that stats don't say it all. I thought his game was sloppy, he decision making on those ints was very bad.
Moore will not be a Cowboy in 2 years or less.

Hey, even Quincy didn't go 1-11. They were 3-4 in games where he had a meaningful number of pass attempts that year.

Right now the issue at hand is QB2. The choices are Dak, Showers, and mystery veteran meat. All the other issues, like QBOTF, will be settled in time.

He completed 9 passes in 15 attempts, while also throwing for 2 TD's and 167 yards. His name was Quincy Carter.

He was also a starter, he had almost the same attempts, more yards and the same TD's. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here, preseason isn't regular season, Quincy Carter proved that.

I'm not saying Dak will be a mediocre NFL quarterback, but this game doesn't mean that he will be a sure star either. Carter by the way was a much higher prospect that Dak.
Carter was a knucklehead

And according to David Helman....Dak was sucking it today. One decent half of football...all went to his head:eek:

More BS out of you. Helman never said that. And that was obvious PI on defense. Never turned around.

Quincy Carter was a terrible quarterback from day one. He had no skill, and his passing was awful. He hardly ever threw a spiral, his throws were jaw-droppingly bad. It was like he was playing quarterback, out of his natural position, which was probably brick-layer. Nothing about Quincy Carter's skillset said, "quarterback".

Comparing Quincy and Dak is way out of line. Dak can throw the football.

Can't understand why so many people here want to shoot down anything good that happens with the Cowboys.

I'm honestly not trying to be a spoiler, but let's all be a little more cautious when it comes to projecting quarterbacks.

Florida University! I'm starting him against the giants game one and you can't talk me out of it!

Quincy was washed out baseball prospect that managed to do something in college to get the NFLs attention sort of like how in HS he managed to get the Cubs attention.
