15 years ago a QB drafted by the Cowboys in the 2nd round had a great preseason game

He completed 9 passes in 15 attempts, while also throwing for 2 TD's and 167 yards. His name was Quincy Carter.

He was also a starter, he had almost the same attempts, more yards and the same TD's. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here, preseason isn't regular season, Quincy Carter proved that.

I'm not saying Dak will be a mediocre NFL quarterback, but this game doesn't mean that he will be a sure star either. Carter by the way was a much higher prospect that Dak.

Finally , I knew someone was going to bring this up. Here is the difference, 15yrs ago, we did not have a legit starting QB, we did not have Tony Romo or anyone even remotely close to the level of Romo, that is why we let released Banks and gave the job to Quincy. There is no way they are going to cut Romo, so Dak will have someone to continue to mentor and teach him how to play at this level

We also ought to keep in mind Quincy didn't start that preseason game in 2001. Tony Banks did.
