This team is beginning to remind me of the 1980's Cowboys (early 80's).

The defense was not shut down but it was pretty good (as compared with the doomsday defense of the late 70's Super Bowl runs).

Danny White at QB - Throws for lots of yards and TD's.
Dorsett at HB - We lack this piece, though Murray is not bad when healthy.
Drew Pearson and Tony Hill at WR - I love Dez and Williams is coming on fast.
Cosby at TE - Witten is better

There are some similarities.

Those teams went to 3 straight NFC Championship games and had stellar, experienced defenses. They probably win the SB in 81 if Joe Montana wasn't Joe Montana.

I agree. I don't think we are near being there yet, but I am seeing some things that remind me of those teams. I REALLY like T. Williams opposite Dez. I think in short order that will be a better COMBINATION than Irvin and Harper. It reminds me more of what we had (not necessarily style of play, just quality of receivers) in Tony Hill and Drew Pearson.
