I have most of the 92 season on VHS in my basement. At some point I'll convert them. I have Super Bowl 28 too. Unfortunately, I left my tape in the VHS machine and the final episode of "Rock" got inserted between half-time and much of the third quarter. :(
I really wanted to preserve the half-time show and the statement Jimmy Johnson made to Todd Christensen at half-time. Christensen reminds Jimmy that the Buffalo Bills came back on the Houston Oilers and Jimmy responds, "We're not Houston." :)

Say what you want about Jimmy, but he was one bad-A. Not another coach like him who could back up his bravado. Miss dem days.

I have many games from throughout the 90's, mostly the wins, and all the playoffs and SB's too. Yes, loved that comment Jimmy made, a classic. But they don't play that one on the biased ESPN & NFLN.
I plan to convert all these also, but have so many other projects too. LOL.
However, the 6 weeks between mini camp and TC coming up, would be a good time to start.

I have a tape I made, and did convert, from the 92 season. For some reason, from game one, I recorded the highlights from ESPN, and some from the old CNN football shows. I did this for every game, and then on through the SB as it turned out. Including some Inside the NFL shows. The one thing I didn't tape, but wish I had, was from the local FOX channel in West Palm Beach. As I was living in Jupiter, FL at the time. Was Suzy Kolber.

She was the sports show host on Sunday nights. And when she was giving the highlights of the game, she was very excited. A news anchor made the comment on her excitement. She said she was a Cowboys fans, as she was a producer on a local Cowboys show, and wrote some stuff for the Dallas Cowboys weekly, or I think she said that she wrote, before coming to FL.
Next thing you knew, she was gone and started on the first year of ESPN2.

Anyway, I converted these highlights, but need to do it again, as I am not sure it was the tape or the machine, as it was not used for about 5 years. But there are portion that are jittery as if the tape was damaged. But it was in a wood box in my closet, so I don't see how it could be. But it was a tape used quite a bit before.

It's interesting to watch the football shows and commentary on the Cowboys back then. I didn't tape that many, but I did tape the pre-game shows leading up to Super Bowl 28 and 29.

Ah, the memories. :)

Remember every one of them very well...

What a year. We were hungry; Not just the coaches and new owners and players...but the fans as well.... We sort of came out of no-where. Everybody was questioning Jerry....and even JJ since he was a college coach.

JJ was my fav all time coach. I mean, what a coach. He didn't play around, but he wasn't exactly Bud Grant either...

Watching without the score and time on the screen is excruciating. Side note on the game...we threw to put the game away when all we needed was the first down. I loved that about Jimmy.

Emmitt for 4. Swing pass to Emmitt.....

Aikman was a very very ..............................excellent game manager. I dont think he gets enough credit for that. He knew exactly "when" to take chances....and when "NOT" too.....

Jimmy probably had a lot to do with that. Norm too...

I think it shows in his approach to announcing games too.........He has been successful at that too.,...

looks like they are all from ten yard torrents. I didn't see the Oakland game, that was one of the most fun and memorable games of the season.

I have been looking forever for the 1990 giants game in NY. The game jimmy was so mad about the officiating and then a few years later in 92 the cowboys ran it up on the giants and leonard marshall and others got all mad!

Me too, man. I have tons of games on VHS. I always wanted to move them to DVD but I just can't find the motivation. Eventually, I'll probably just throw them out...

I wish the NFL would let us rent/stream copies of old games.

I understand about the motivation part. I'm there too. I have so much video to edit and convert (I've recorded both my sons and their sports exploits from early childhood and they're not 15 and 17) that it becomes overwhelming when I think about it. But I look at it this way: I'll have a lot to do during retirement. ;)

If they are games I don't have I would do that for you if you wanted. Burn them to dvd or digital files and give you back the tapes.

the best thing would be to take them to a place that does that sort of conversion, and let them
do it.
The quality might be better and it is easy on you.

the only 2 1992 games not on youtube are week 15 and 16 the skins and Atlanta.
Thanks to op, as I got the ones I didnt already have.
If I get the 2 I would have the whole season.
Seems the 93 games are not there.

Theebs, I don't recall how accurate the labeling is on them so I can't really tell you which ones they are. I started recording every game from right around 1992-ish and probably stopped in 1996 or so. I'd be willing to ship them to you (on my dime). If you see something worth converting...I would welcome a digital copy. Can't promise that there's not some terrible porn and/or 9/11 tapes in there. :(
