Clearly our weakest link is in the defense.

As much as I would love to have Mcfadden.

I think we either go for

DB & Safety or DB and DE

or maybe 2 DB's for Wade's defense.

DE cannot mean defensive end. We have a boat load of them. Canty, Spears, Ratliff, Bowmen, Hatcher. Every single one of them have made some plays. I mean how many do we really need? :bang2:

I'm for drafting a safety and a CB.

Yeah we have quantity.... but do we really have quality. Ware and maybe Spencer... then who else?

Just asking....

Ware and Spencer are linebackers. While Spears may not be a huge pass rusher, he is by far the most dominate run stopper on the team. I'm slightly confused why they do not look at him for NT. Now, Canty I'm not sold on. I would like Ratliff to move into his role. Hatcher and Bowmen actually had several big plays in their limited time on the field. I believe they just need more development time. Personally, I think drafting another OLB or DE would be foolish unless we were getting a real beast very high in the draft. I'm talking about a Freeney or Peppers type player.

Well I'll disagree, I vote for getting McFadden, whatever it costs, has anybody thought that if we controll the ball more we keep the def. off the field, besides if you noticed NE got their wrs from trades/free agency, we should too, I'm not against a cb later in the draft. One of our main weaknesses whether anybody will admit it was that we did not control the ball, in fact they held it against us, and wore us down..

OK Zoners, I have a question.

I will admit I have not been able to see every game that McFadden has played, but I did watch the entire Ark/Auburn game, .. so you tell me, what did I see from McFadden.

Was it his best, was it 75%, was it 50%.

You tell me.

I have been hearing "beast", "man-child", and talk like that.

I see a great athlete with great speed. I don't see a 20+ a game NFL back, but that's just me.

Plus I know that he has been hurt a lot.

So you tell me, what did I see Saturday?

I dont see any scenario where they use a 1st rd pick on a DE or as safety

if they dont resign Hamlin, either another free agent or perhaps Watkins will play FS next yr

Wide Receiver if we cannot trade for a good young one.

Running back because we need a ground game even when the defense is not tired

Corner because lets face it Henry is a little older and is injury prone.

We do not need a safety at all.

If Merriweather was in the 2008 draft instead of the 2007 draft, the Cowboys would drop their second first rounder on him.

Ugh, I want Larry Fitzgerald. Sign him as a FA would be the best. The question is, how much will he ask for? Would you sign him to a 6/yr $50M deal? (TO type money but for twice as long) I would.

We need more talent. I say BPA. We have several needs- RB,DT,WR,FS,CB. I am glad we have two #1s. We need them both. Also, don't be suprised if we trade back to get another #1 next year. I would be perfectly happy if we did that again. Its been a formula of success for the Patriots.

We have just as much need at CB as we do at DT, WR, OL, RB, FS.

The good part is, that none of the positions are "NEED" positions.

What type of offense would we have if we signed him, gave both 1st for McFadden, found a more powerful replacement for Kosier (don't release him just have him as an all purpose type) ? I think we would be the equivilant of NEs offense with TO/Fitzgerald/Crayton or Stanback/ McFadden and Barber/ a big strong road grading guard next to Flo, Witten the Kitten (he's so smooth and graceful running).. Wow!

We can trade for a great Corner. :D

Fitzgerald is an F'in stud. Why waste a first rounder on unproven talent and show Fitz the money...or even a first rounder to Arizona.

Well, lets wait until Tank Johnson can play, that will improve at least a little our D and Hatcher will play on his role, It will make our D a little more like Wade want it on the defensive line.

So, assuming we wont need a DT or DE, I would pick, (and remember, theres not always what you want out there on the draft when its your turn)

A CB (first and foremost)

A WR/Safety
