If we can make the playoffs with a no name defensive front, I would be impressed. Looking at this team and we're a couple of impact players on the Dline from being a double digit win team.

Or just a few bone headed late game decisions away. The problem is we continue to make those year after freakin' year.

Logic tells me the Eagles are gonna beat us senseless.

The same Eagles that were beaten senseless by the Vikings? Yes, that's who I want in Week 17. There's no other team I'd rather play Week 17 than to play Philly for the Division.

Yes, it going to be funny around here if the Cowboys make the playoffs. How will posters justify ranting about firing the Head Coach if he makes the playoffs with a defense full of misfits?
The only argument possible will be that Romo overcame all of those deficiencies...as he has done for the last couple of years to even make this team competitive.

6 straight wins. Unlikely, difficult and improbable, yet not impossible.

So you're saying there's a chance?

I want to keep the hope alive, but unfortunately, I think Kirk Cousins will shred what's left of this Dallas defense, and then the Eagles will complete the cycle of division teams beating them in the final game in a win or go home situation.

6.
2 to get into the playoffs.
1 Wildcard.
1 Divisional.
1 Conference.
1 League Championship.

If DAL loses at WSH, but PHI loses vs CHI. Dallas would only need a win at home against PHI in order to win the division and not only that, be the #4 seed in the NFC. That would reduce the streak to 5 in order to win the SB. I however prefer the longer winning streak of 6.

True. I didn't factor in the possibility that the Eagles lose both of their remaining games. Though if we lose this week & they win, we're done. Week 17 becomes a preseason game.

I don't know how to feel about this. This sounds so simple for this team to accomplish. Win two winnable games and get the playoffs but as we all know NOTHING is easy for this team. Right now this possibility is the only thing that is making me somewhat try to get over what happened yesterday. If the Eagles had won yesterday man I don't know how I would feel. I guess a little worse than I do right now. Everytime this team has it handed to them and it's right in front of them they crap the bed. Can this team finally show me, us, the entire Cowboy fanbase something in these last two games.

We deserve that. Have been around since the early 70's teams so have seen the ups and downs. About time this team shows us an up for nothing more than a character builder.

I don't see them making a run in the playoffs, but winning the division in spite of all the injuries would be a great start on next season

I may be wrong, but it seems to me that we needed not 2, but only 1 win to clinch the division each of the last 3 years. :(

The way this season is going the Cowboys could lose next weekend and still be playing for a division title in the last game......how messed up is that...That is what Jerry is counting on and everything will be status quo again next year.... :-(

and the last time we played them in that situation we were destroyed....

Jason Garrett owes a huge THANK YOU to Minnesota, so 2 more wins and we’re NFC East Champs.

What a wild NFL Sunday yesterday was, first the Minnesota Vikings put up 40 against the Eagles without their best and seemingly only offensive player in AP, then the Cowboys are walking all over the Packers in the first half. So its 5:00 CST and the Cowboys are thinking that the division can be clinched in Week 16 with a win at WSH and a PHI loss to the hungry Bears. Good times indeed.

And then -- all of the sudden -- all hell breaks loose. Packers come back on the Cowboys, the man from Princeton calls the most controversial and bizarre game plan, the Cowboys woes continue. Packers win! Now Philly can clinch the division in Week 16 with a Cowboy loss at WSH and a PHI win against the Bears. What a rollercoaster of a season this is, it’s almost unbelievable and unbearable.

Jason Garrett has a job thanks to Matt Cassel and the Vikings, he is however almost dead, ICU keeping him alive, and every play, every down will be crucial to his not only Cowboys career, but his NFL coaching career. As a Cowboys fan, I refuse to accept a loss, and I will never be happy with a loss and with elimination. True, we lose out, and Garrett is out for sure, but I believe even if Garrett makes the playoffs, his job is in jeopardy. It would take a win at WSH, a win at home vs PHI and a win at home vs SF in order for Garrett to be released from ICU, and after that, who wouldn’t be happy? I know I would.

Even with a depleted defense, and even with the worst loss I can remember, I still feel hope. Mainly because we play the Commanders next week, and everybody hates the Commanders. Count it as an official elimination game for Romo, this one counts, this one is in December and this one is in the road, it won’t be easy, but if we lose even hope, what else do we have? Romo needs help however, the defense better show up; otherwise Kirk Cousins will break some kind of record next week.

Because even if Tom Brady lost the game with a 4th quarter INT and nobody talks about it, nobody says anything, despite his defense ‘holding’ the Miami offense to 24, and him ‘only’ needing 27 points to win, despite Eli not being mentioned at all, despite him having a historical bad season (not only statistically but also leading his team to a dismal record), and Tony Romo putting up All-Pro numbers out there, critics, fans, and the media doesn’t care about anything except a Romo headline. He has more pressure than any other player in football, and it’s not even close. It takes a great team effort to erase the ghost, the legend.

Week 17 at home versus Phily for the division is what we want, what we should be rooting for, not personnel changes, not things we can’t control, let’s root and cheer for what we enjoy which is a division championship. I know I will.

I know it's still Monday and this is likely an overreaction... but once you come to the realization that our offense can't keep up with our defense no matter how hard they try, really it just starts to boil down to what is the best way to go down. I just don't see how there is any benefit to us finishing 8-8 again and losing in Week 17. I would much rather be finished off by the Deadskins. Whatever change people want to happen upstairs, it will happen just as easily in the latter scenario. And it would be better for the players an coaches who do return not to have to hear about all of the crap. The media would so much love for us to lose the exact same way with the same record 3 years in a row. ESPN would explode with newly created stats. And most importantly, I don't want to have to sit through yet another Week 17 loss. They are just so painful.

And the worst part is... the Eagles could very easily lose to a solid Bears team and drag us into the "elimination" game kicking and screaming. lol!
