Some interesting answers. As these two players have been discussed many times on here already.
I say both need to.

2 say Mazi, 2 say Guyton, as that is more important as to protecting the QB.
Mazi on his 3rd DC in 3 years. But still he was a 1st round pick, for which KC wanted to trade up with Dallas to select him. But Dallas wanted to stay in the 1st round. Mazi was playing better toward the end of last season.

Guyton on his 2nd OL coach as well. But supposedly shown some good signs in OTA's and mini camp. He did have a few minor injuries last season as well, could have held him back a little bit on his development.

We really will not know much from TC, except they may say they are having a good TC. But show us for real in game 1.

The obvious answer, for the team, is both.

However, if you are talking INDIVIDUALLY, I would say Mazi. He is pretty much in his "Make it or Break it" year. If he does NOT flip the switch and suddenly start playing well, he is probably out of the NFL very soon.

Guyton is not yet on his last chance. Since we appear to have had nearly zero OL coaching last year, one could argue that he is NOW a rookie.

Guyton, by a landslide. Guyton has in spades what Mazi does not. Topnotch NFL talent.

Mazi was always going to be limited by his lack of agility. That's why he gets blown off the ball all the time. He's quite simply not an NFL starter.

That's like asking which tastes more like a fruit, an apple or an orange?

Both.

The truth is Guyton. He needs big time improvement.

Mazi needs to step up his improvement.

I don't think either player will end up being first round talent in the NFL.

But they don't have to be busts either.

I think the most improved ends up being Mazi, though.

Both
Buy i like whos backing up Guyton more than I do Mazi. Therfore Mazi

If Mazi doesn’t start taking a big leap he’ll eventually end up in the UFL. I’ve given up on him. I’m hoping Guyton takes the bigger leap. If he doesn’t take a big leap he could end up like Mazi. If Guyton vastly improves and our first pick can hit the ground running our OL will be much better this season.

Mazi played better last season and the current coaches are pretty high on him. I'm still in his corner but he may never be a top 15 guy.

The current coaches are high on him because what else are they going to say? They certainly aren’t going to say anything negative about him. I’m convinced he’ll never see a second contract with the Cowboys. I’m just hoping he can be serviceable this season, if he doesn’t end up being a surprise cut.

Mazi's basic quickness off the ball has been his week point; that is from all accounts why he was told to take the weight off his rookie year.
If he could just stand his ground and clog the middle of the line he would be a valuable player if not a first rd talent

Guyton was simply not ready to start at LT in the NFL and THAT was on Jethro and the coaches for putting him in a position to fail. I have a lot more hope for him then Mazi.

And lack of lateral agility. A big part of standing your ground is being able to mirror the defenders moves coming in. Good DT's don't come in in a straight line, they're moving side to side.

Hard to say. Guyton has 1st round talent, Mazi does not.

This coaching staff didn’t draft Mazi so he better get his butt in gear, especially considering we drafted a DT. If he were to show something, Mazi could end up being shown the door after a couple of seasons like Taco.

Not just this, but the standard of his position is higher........but I will say this again, he DOESN'T have to be Tyron Smith. Just prove he can hold his water as an NFL starter.
Just like our QB doesn't have to be Joe Montana, just keep us in the game with smart play
