So, we made the playoffs with Carter as our QB and inferior talent all around?

Why/How?

Were we just lucky?
Was the oline better then?
Was Carter a better QB?
Was the defense better?
Did the team just play harder in Parcells first year?

Anyone want to compare the teams position by position?

And finally, if Carter can get us to the playoffs with a dumbed down offense, why can't Romo? I know it would not be exciting to watch, but could he get it done if we asked little of him just like we did with Carter?

uh, that was 2003. We had a VERY soft early schedule, got shot with luck that MNF with Giants, then everyone figured out our D was soft and that Q and Hambone were not a real threat. tampa and then the Pats ate us up and spit us out. It was all downhill from there on. We had one good game against the Panthers the rest of the season as regarding beating good teams. I think we beat only 2 winning teams all year- that big one against the birds, and then Carolina. And both of them were nail biters.

Actually, we are record wise exactly the same as that crappy 2002 team at this point- It tanked around this point in the season, Hutch replaced QC, and the team finished 5-11 and was the end of Campo.

Also remember that was the year that LA was injured, then virtually the whole rest of the line except Flo was out and we were picking people off of the waiver wire on tuesday and starting them the next sunday. So for those that thought last year and this year the O line could not get worse, look at 2002 and know that it can.
